Description: SCF is a hematopoietic growth factor that exerts its activity by signaling through the c-Kit receptor. SCF and c-Kit are essential for the survival, proliferation and differentiation of hematopoietic cells committed to the melanocyte and germ cell lineages. Human SCF manifests low activity on murine cells, while murine and rat SCF are fully active on human cells. The human SCF gene encodes for a 273 amino acid transmembrane protein, which contains a 25 amino acid N-terminal signal sequence, a 189 amino acid extracellular domain, a 23 amino acid transmembrane domain, and a 36 amino acid cytoplasmic domain. The secreted soluble form of SCF is generated by proteolytic processing of the membrane anchored precursor. Recombinant Human SCF is an 18.4 kDa polypeptide containing 165 amino acid residues, which corresponds to the sequence of the secreted soluble form of SCF. Manufactured using all Animal-Free reagents.

Description: TNF-α is a pleiotropic pro-inflammatory cytokine secreted by various cells, including adipocytes, activated monocytes, macrophages, B cells, T cells and fibroblasts. It belongs to the TNF family of ligands, and signals through two receptors, TNFR1 and TNFR2. TNF-α is cytotoxic to a wide variety of tumor cells, and is an essential factor in mediating the immune response against bacterial infections. TNF-α also plays a role in the induction of septic shock, autoimmune diseases, rheumatoid arthritis, inflammation, and diabetes. Human and murine TNF-α demonstrate significant cross-species reactivity. TNF-α exists in two forms; a type II transmembrane protein, and a mature soluble protein. The TNF-α transmembrane protein is proteolytically cleaved to yield a soluble, biologically active, 17 kDa TNF-α, which forms a non-covalently linked homotrimer in solution. Recombinant Murine TNF-α is a soluble 157 amino acid protein (17.3 kDa) which corresponds to C-terminal extracellular domain of the full length transmembrane protein.

Description: NT-3 is a neurotrophic factor structurally related to β-NGF, BDNF, and NT-4. These proteins belong to the cysteine-knot family of growth factors that assume stable dimeric structures. NT-3 is expressed by neurons of the central nervous systems, and can signal through the trk receptors. NT-3 promotes the growth and survival of nerve and glial cells. The amino acid sequences of human, murine and rat NT-3 are identical. Recombinant Human NT-3 is a noncovalently linked homodimer of two 13.6 kDa polypeptide monomers (240 total amino acid residues).

Description: Oncostatin M (OSM) is a growth and differentiation factor that participates in the regulation of neurogenesis, osteogenesis and hematopoiesis. Produced by activated T cells, monocytes and Kaposi’s sarcoma cells, OSM can exert both stimulatory and inhibitory effects on cell proliferation. It stimulates the proliferation of fibroblasts, smooth muscle cells and Kaposi’s sarcoma cells, but inhibits the growth of some normal and tumor cell lines. It also promotes cytokine release (e.g. IL-6, GM-CSF and G-CSF) from endothelial cells, and enhances the expression of low-density lipoprotein receptors in hepatoma cells. OSM shares several structural and functional characteristics with LIF, IL-6, and CNTF. Human OSM is active on murine cells. Recombinant Human Oncostatin M is a 25.7 kDa protein, containing 227 amino acid residues (full length precursor).

Description: Gremlin-1 (isoform-1) belongs to a group of diffusible proteins that bind to ligands of the TGF-β family and regulate their activity by inhibiting their access to signaling receptors. The interplay between TGF-β ligands and their natural antagonists has major biological significance during development processes, in which cellular response can vary considerably depending upon the local concentration of the signaling molecule. Gremlin-1 is highly expressed in the small intestine, fetal brain, and colon; and is expressed at lower levels in the brain, prostate, pancreas, and in skeletal muscle. Gremlin-1 regulates multiple functions in early development by specifically binding to, and inhibiting the function of, BMP-2, -4, and -7. It also plays a role in carcinogenesis and kidney branching morphogenesis. Recombinant Human Gremlin-1 is an 18.3 kDa protein containing 160 amino acid residues.

Description: EGF is a potent growth factor that stimulates the proliferation of various epidermal and epithelial cells. Additionally, EGF has been shown to inhibit gastric secretion, and to be involved in wound healing. EGF signals through a receptor known as c-erbB, which is a class I tyrosine kinase receptor. This receptor also binds with TGF-α and VGF (vaccinia virus growth factor). Recombinant Rat EGF is a 6.2 kDa globular protein containing 54 amino acid residues, including 3 intramolecular disulfide bonds.

Description: TIMP-2 is an extracellular inhibitor of MMPs, including MMP-1, -2, -3, -7, -8, -9, -10, -12, -13, -14, -15, -16 and -19. It belongs to the I35 (TIMP) family of irreversible protease inhibitors that function as key modulators of extracellular matrix degradation during tissue development and remodeling. TIMP-2 can also act through a MMP-independent mechanism inhibiting endothelial cell proliferation in vitro and demonstrates anti-angiogenic activities Recombinant Human TIMP-2 is a 21.8 kDa protein containing 194 amino acid residues.
