Description: Tripartite motif-containing protein 34 (TRIM34), also known as RING finger protein 21 (RNF21) or interferon-responsive finger protein 1 (IFP1), is a 488 amino acid member of the TRIM family, also known as the RING-B-box coiled-coil (RBCC) family. Members of the RBCC family have an N-terminal RING finger, followed by one or two zinc-binding domains (B-box domains), a leucine coiled-coil region and a variable C-terminal domain. Three isoforms of TRIM34 exist as a result of alternative splicing events. Isoform 1, the most abundant isoform, is highly expressed in placenta, spleen, colon and peripheral blood leukocytes. Studies have shown that Interferon (IFN) stimulation leads to an upregulation of TRIM34. These findings suggest that TRIM34 maybe a downstream effector that mediates IFN activities.

Description: LPIN1 Antibody: LPIN1, also known as PAP1, is a magnesium-ion-dependent phosphatidic acid phosphohydrolase enzyme that catalyzes the penultimate step in triglyceride synthesis including the dephosphorylation of phosphatidic acid to yield diacylglycerol . LPIN1 is required for adipocyte differentiation and it also functions as a nuclear transcriptional coactivator with some peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors to modulate expression of other genes involved in lipid metabolism (1,2). Mutations in LPIN1 are associated with metabolic diseases such as type 2 diabetes and recurrent acute myoglobinuria (3,4) and it is also a candidate for several human lipodystrophy syndromes.

Supplier: Biosensis
Description: Tyrosine hydroxylase (TH) is the rate-limiting enzyme in the synthesis of the catecholamines dopamine, epinephrine and norepinephrine. Therefore the regulation of the TH enzyme represents the central means for controlling the synthesis of these important catecholamines. FUNCTION: Plays an important role in the physiology of adrenergic neurons. CATALYTIC ACTIVITY: L-tyrosine + tetrahydrobiopterin + O2 = 3,4-dihydroxy-L-phenylalanine + 4a-hydroxytetrahydrobiopterin. COFACTOR: Fe(2+) ion. ENZYME REGULATION: Phosphorylation leads to an increase in the catalytic activity. PATHWAY: Catecholamine biosynthesis; first step. SUBUNIT: Homotetramer. PTM: In vitro, phosphorylation of Ser-19 increases the rate of Ser-40 phosphorylation, which results in enzyme opening and activation. SIMILARITY: Belongs to the biopterin-dependent aromatic amino acid hydroxylase family. The presence of different DNA sequences at the TH locus confers susceptibility to various disorders of the brain including manic-depression and schizophrenia. Parkinson's disease is also considered a TH deficiency as low dopamine levels are a consistent neurochemical abnormality.
