Supplier: Prosci
Description: Tumor suppressor. Acts as a dual-specificity protein phosphatase, dephosphorylating tyrosine-, serine- and threonine-phosphorylated proteins. Also acts as a lipid phosphatase, removing the phosphate in the D3 position of the inositol ring from phosphatidylinositol 3, 4, 5-trisphosphate, phosphatidylinositol 3, 4-diphosphate, phosphatidylinositol 3-phosphate and inositol 1, 3, 4, 5-tetrakisphosphate with order of substrate preference in vitro PtdIns(3, 4, 5)P3 > PtdIns(3, 4)P2 > PtdIns3P > Ins(1, 3, 4, 5)P4. The lipid phosphatase activity is critical for its tumor suppressor function. Antagonizes the PI3K-AKT/PKB signaling pathway by dephosphorylating phosphoinositides and thereby modulating cell cycle progression and cell survival. The unphosphorylated form cooperates with AIP1 to suppress AKT1 activation. Dephosphorylates tyrosine-phosphorylated focal adhesion kinase and inhibits cell migration and integrin-mediated cell spreading and focal adhesion formation. May be a negative regulator of insulin signaling and glucose metabolism in adipose tissue.

Description: Carbonic anhydrases (CAs) are a large family of zinc metalloenzymes that catalyze the reversible hydration of carbon dioxide. They participate in a variety of biological processes, including respiration, calcification, acid-base balance, bone resorption, and the formation of aqueous humor, cerebrospinal fluid, saliva, and gastric acid. They show extensive diversity in tissue distribution and in their subcellular localization. CA4 is a glycosylphosphatidyl-inositol-anchored membrane isozyme expressed on the luminal surfaces of pulmonary (and certain other) capillaries and of proximal renal tubules. Its exact function is not known, however, it may have a role in inherited renal abnormalities of bicarbonate transport.Carbonic anhydrases (CAs) are a large family of zinc metalloenzymes that catalyze the reversible hydration of carbon dioxide. Description: Metabolism of inositol phospholipids by intracellular signaling mediators is fundamental to signal transduction in eukaryotic cells. PI-4,5-P2 (PIP2) can be synthesized by phosphorylation of PI-4-P by type I phosphatidylinositol phosphate kinase (PIP5K I), or phosphorylation of PI-5-P by type II PIPK (PIP4K II). PI-4,5-P2 regulation of cellular calcium levels involves its hydrolysis by Phospholipase C (PLC) to produce inositol 1,4,5-triphosphate (IP3) and diacylglycerol (DAG), which serve as second messengers in the import of calcium via IP3-sensitive ion channels and in the activation of PKC, respectively.

Description: This gene encodes a member of the inositol monophosphatase family. The encoded protein is localized to the Golgi apparatus and catalyzes the hydrolysis of phosphoadenosine phosphate (PAP) to adenosine monophosphate (AMP). Mutations in this gene are a cause of GRAPP type chondrodysplasia with joint dislocations, and a pseudogene of this gene is located on the long arm of chromosome 1.

Supplier: Bioss
Description: PLCL1 is involved an inositol phospholipid based intracellular signaling cascade. Shows no PLC activity to phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate and sphatidylinositol. Component in the dependent endocytosis process of GABA A receptor (By similarity). Regulates the turnover of receptors and thus contributes to the maintenance of GABA mediated synaptic inhibition. Its aberrant expression could contribute to the genesis and progression of lung carcinoma. Acts as an inhibitor of PPP1C.

Description: This antibody recognizes human CD48, a 45 kDa glycosyl phophatidyl-inositol (GPI)-anchored cell surface protein. CD48 is strongly expressed on lymphocytes and monocytes and weakly on granulocytes but is absent on platelets, fibroblasts, epithelium and endothelium. CD48 is one of the markers for detecting the defects of GPI anchoring structure on the patients with paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobulinuria (PNH) and serves as a low affinity ligand for CD2.

Description: Intracellular channel that mediates calcium release from the endoplasmic reticulum following stimulation by inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate. Plays a role in ER stress-induced apoptosis. Cytoplasmic calcium released from the ER triggers apoptosis by the activation of CaM kinase II, eventually leading to the activation of downstream apoptosis pathways (By similarity).

Description: This gene encodes a member of the phospholipase C family. Phospholipase C isozymes play critical roles in intracellular signal transduction by catalyzing the hydrolysis of phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate (PIP2) into the second messengers diacylglycerol (DAG) and inositol triphosphate (IP3). The encoded protein functions as a tumor suppressor in several types of cancer, and mutations in this gene are a cause of hereditary leukonychia. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2011].
