Description: The 1:1 complex of histidylserine with Co(II)(Cys-Gly) was shown to cleave DNA by hydrolysis at physiological pH. Cleavage has also been observed employing the analogous Co complex with His-Phe (N-1095).

Description: Efficient fluorogenic substrate for two matrix metalloproteinases: interstitial collagenase (MMP-1) and gelatinase (MMP-9). Dnp-Pro-Cha-Gly-Cys(Me)-His-Ala-Lys(N-Me-Abz)-amide has favorable solubility characteristics. Both enzymes cleave this substrate between Gly and Cys(Me) (Smc), liberating a cleavage product with a fluorescence signal suitable for inhibitor screening and determining Ki values. The major advantage of this FRET substrate is its adaptability to filters commonly available on commercial plate readers (excitation at 365 nm and emission at 450 nm).

Description: TP1 Antibody: Telomerase is an RNA-dependent DNA polymerase that uses an RNA component to add telomeric repeat sequences at the ends of chromosomes. Besides the RNA component which serves as the template that specifies the telomeric repeat, the telomerase complex contains a reverse transcriptase protein (TRT) and various accessory proteins including the telomerase-associated protein 1 (TP1). Telomerase activity is low in most somatic cells, causing the gradual shortening of telomeres which can ultimately lead to telomere fusion and cell death. High levels of telomerase activity are widely seen in cancerous cells and while recent experiments have suggested that telomerase may be a viable target in cancer therapy, expression levels of TP1 do not correlate with malignancy. At least two isoforms of TP1 are known to exist.

Description: Llama anti-rabbit CF™ dye conjugates are prepared by labeling affinity purified llama anti-rabbit IgG (H+L) with a selection of CF™ dyes. CF™ dyes offer combined advantages in brightness, photostability, and specificity compared other fluorescent dyes. CF™640R (Ex/Em 642/662 nm) is a novel far-red rhodamine-based dye spectrally similar to Cy®5 and Alexa Fluor® 647. CF™640R is much brighter than Cy®5 and at least as bright as Alexa Fluor® 647 when excited at 633 or 635 nm. However, the most important advantage of CF™640R is its exceptional photostability.

Description: Thioredoxin was found in yeast, plants, mammals and bacteria. It is a protein with two redox-active half-cystine residues in exposed active center, having the following amino acid sequence: -Cys-Gly-Pro-Cys. The protein exists in reduced form (Trx-(SH)2) with a dithiol, or in an oxidized form (Trx-S2). The ThioFusion Expression System allows expression and purification of large amounts of heterologous protein from E. coli.
