Description: This Antibody targets E2F1 in WB applications and shows reactivity with Human and mouse samples. The immunogen is recombinant fragment corresponding to a region within amino acids 43 and 217 of Human E2F1. The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the E2F family of transcription factors. The E2F family plays a crucial role in the control of cell cycle and action of tumor suppressor proteins and is also a target of the transforming proteins of small DNA tumor viruses. The E2F proteins contain several evolutionally conserved domains found in most members of the family. These domains include a DNA binding domain, a dimerization domain which determines interaction with the differentiation regulated transcription factor proteins (DP), a transactivation domain enriched in acidic amino acids, and a tumor suppressor protein association domain which is embedded within the transactivation domain. This protein and another 2 members, E2F2 and E2F3, have an additional cyclin binding domain. This protein binds preferentially to retinoblastoma protein pRB in a cell-cycle dependent manner. It can mediate both cell proliferation and p53-dependent/independent apoptosis.

Description: Sphingosine Kinase (SphK) catalyzes the phosphorylation of the lipid sphingosine, creating the bioactive lipid sphingosine-1-phosphate (S1P). S1P subsequently signals through cell surface G protein-coupled receptors, as well as intracellularly, to modulate cell proliferation, survival, motility and differentiation. SphK is an important signaling enzyme which is activated by diverse agents, including growth factors that signal through receptor tyrosine kinases, agents activating G protein-coupled receptors, and immunoglobulin receptors. Two SphK isotypes, SphK-1 and SphK-2, have been cloned, and both isotypes are ubiquitously expressed. SphK-1 has been shown to mediate cell growth, prevention of apoptosis, and cellular transformation, and is upregulated in a variety of human tumors. In contrast, SphK-2 increases apoptosis, and may be responsible for phosphorylating and activating the immunosuppressive drug FTY720.

Description: This antibody is predicted to react with bovine, canine, mouse, porcine and rat based on sequence homology. Proteins that contain a SET domain, such as SETDB2, modulate gene expression epigenetically through histone H3 methylation. SETDB2 is likely a histone H3 methyltransferase, as it contains both the active site and flanking cysteine residues required for catalytic activity .

Description: This antibody is predicted to react with canine, mouse, porcine and rat based on sequence homology. The exact function of this gene is not know. Studies in mice suggest that it may be involved in nucleic acid demethylation, and that its mRNA level is regulated by feeding and fasting. Genomewide association studies of type 2 diabetes indicate this gene as a diabetes susceptibility locus. Mutation in this gene has been associated with growth retardation, developmental delay, coarse facies, and early death.

Description: This antibody is predicted to react with bovine, canine, mouse and rat based on sequence homology. Drosophila that have mutations in their mago nashi gene produce progeny with defects in germplasm assembly and germline development. This gene encodes the mammalian mago nashi homolog. In mammals, mRNA expression is not limited to the germ plasm, but is expressed ubiquitously in adult tissues and can be induced by serum stimulation of quiescent fibroblasts.

Description: This antibody is predicted to react with canine, mouse and rat based on sequence homology. This gene was identified as an estrogen-responsive gene. Regulation of transcription by estrogen is mediated by estrogen receptor which binds to the estrogen-responsive element found in the 5'-flanking region of this gene. The encoded protein is a tumor-associated antigen that is expressed at high frequency in a variety of cancers. Two transcript variants differing in the 5' UTR, but encoding the same protein, have been identified for this gene.

Description: This antibody is predicted to react with canine based on sequence homology. This gene encodes a member of a LIM protein subfamily characterized by a LIM motif and a domain of Src homology region 3. The encoded protein functions as an actin-binding protein and possibly in cytoskeletal organization.

Description: This antibody is predicted to react with bovine, porcine and rabbit based on sequence homology. Creatine kinase isoenzymes play a central role in energy transduction in tissues with large, fluctuating energy demands, such as skeletal muscle, heart, brain and spermatozoa. The CKM isoform, predominant in skeletal muscle and heart tissue, is a cytoplasmic enzyme involved in energy homeostasis and is an important serum marker for myocardial infarction. CKM reversibly catalyzes the transfer of phosphate between ATP and various phosphogens such as creatine phosphate. It acts as a homodimer in striated muscle as well as in other tissues, and as a heterodimer with a similar brain isozyme in heart. The encoded protein is a member of the ATP:guanido phosphotransferase protein family.

Description: This antibody is predicted to react with bovine, mouse and rat based on sequence homology. Glutamate receptors are the predominant excitatory neurotransmitter receptors in the mammalian brain and are activated in a variety of normal neurophysiologic processes. These receptors are heteromeric protein complexes composed of multiple subunits, arranged to form ligand-gated ion channels. The classification of glutamate receptors is based on their activation by different pharmacologic agonists. The subunit encoded by this gene belongs to a family of AMPA -sensitive glutamate receptors, and is subject to RNA editing . Alternative splicing of this gene results in transcript variants encoding different isoforms, which may vary in their signal transduction properties. Some haplotypes of this gene show a positive association with schizophrenia.

Description: It has been successfully used in ICC/IF and flow cytometry applications on mouse and human samples. SSEA-1 (stage-specific embryonic antigen-1) is a cell surface antigen, expressed in murine embryonic stem cells, embryonal carcinoma cells, and induced pluripotent stem cells (iPS). SSEA-1 is absent in undifferentiated human stem cells but is present on the cell surface after retinoic acid mediated differentiation.

Description: This antibody is predicted to react with bovine, canine, human and rat based on sequence homology. The product of this gene belongs to the phosphatase 2A regulatory subunit B family. Protein phosphatase 2A is one of the four major Ser/Thr phosphatases, and it is implicated in the negative control of cell growth and division. It consists of a common heteromeric core enzyme, which is composed of a catalytic subunit and a constant regulatory subunit, that associates with a variety of regulatory subunits. The B regulatory subunit might modulate substrate selectivity and catalytic activity. This gene encodes an epsilon isoform of the regulatory subunit B56 subfamily.
