Catalog Number: (10407-366)
Supplier: Bioss
Description: Beta-oxidation of fatty acids. The highest activity concerns the C6 to C10 chain length substrate. Converts the end product of pristanic acid beta oxidation, 4,8-dimethylnonanoyl-CoA, to its corresponding carnitine ester.

Catalog Number: (76118-086)
Supplier: Bioss
Description: Aldehydic products of lipid peroxidation, such as 4 hydroxynonenal (4 HNE), have been implicated in the etiology of pathological changes under oxidative stress as a key mediator of oxidative stress induced cell death. It is a stable product of lipid peroxidation, is proarrhythmic and may contribute to the cytotoxic effects of oxidative stress

4-HNE has been hypothesized to play a key role in cell signal transduction, in a variety of pathways from cell cycle events to cellular adhesion.

Supplier: Bioss
Description: ACADVL (acyl-Coenzyme A dehydrogenase, very long chain) catalyzes the first step of the mitochondrial fatty acid beta-oxidation pathway. It is specific to esters of long-chain and very long chain fatty acids such as palmitoyl-CoA and stearoyl-CoA. Deficiencies in ACADVL are associated with reduced myocardial fatty acid beta-oxidation and cardiomyopathy.

Supplier: Prosci
Description: PAOX belongs to the flavin monoamine oxidase family. PAOX is a flavoenzyme which catalyzes the oxidation of N (1)-acetylspermine to spermidine and is thus involved in the polyamine back-conversion. It can also oxidize N (1)-acetylspermidine to putrescine. PAOX does not oxidize spermidine. It plays an important role in the regulation of polyamine intracellular concentration and has the potential to act as a determinant of cellular sensitivity to the antitumor polyamine analogs.

Description: Peroxiredoxin (Prx) is an antioxidant enzyme detoxifying reactive oxygen species and has a cysteine at the active site. Prx enzymes modulate various receptor signaling pathways and protect cells from oxidatively induced death. Peroxiredoxin 1 to 4 have two conserved Cys residues corresponding to Cys51 and Cys172 of mammalian Peroxiredoxin 1. The active site cysteine(Cys51) is oxidized to cysteine sulfenic acid(Cys51-SOH) when a peroxide is reduced. Because Cys51-SOH is unstable, it forms a disulfide with Cys172-SH which comes from the other subunit of the homodimer. The disulfide is then reduced back to the Prx active thiol form by the thioredoxin-thioredoxin reductase system. However, the formation of the disulfide is a slow process. Thus under oxidative stress conditions, the sulfenic intermediate(Cys51-SOH) can be easily over oxidized to cysteine sulfinic acid(Cys-SO2H) or cysteine sulfonic acid(Cys-SO3H) before it is able to form a disulfide. Recent studies suggest that over oxidized Prx can be reduced back to the active form during recovery after oxidative stress.

Supplier: MilliporeSigma
Description: Clear and free from particulates. Suitable for use in organic synthesis and other anhydrous solvent applications. UV cutoff at 212nm.
Elbow adapter with septum cap (EM-692004-2) allows for the removal of solvent under nitrogen atmosphere. Replacement septum (EM-692004S-2) for use with elbow adapter minimizes air and moisture intrusion once the primary septum is punctured. Drying tube (EM-692010-2) filled with t.h.e.* desiccant indicating silica gel removes solvent under a dry-air atmosphere. Large plug (EM-692012-2) is a replacement plug for bottle top.

Supplier: MilliporeSigma
Description: Accurate analytic results in UV/VIS and infrared spectroscopy depend on the use of very pure solvents for sample preparation. The Uvasol® solvents range has been specially designed for spectroscopy and other applications requiring solvents of the highest spectral purity. The refinement process allows a greater degree of security in applications and avoids misinterpretation of analytical results caused by traces of UV, IR and fluorescence contamination. Uvasol® solvents offer best UV transmittance. In all specifications the minimum transmittance for 5 typical wavelengths are identified. Furthermore the transmittance is specified in accordance with Reag. Ph Eur and ACS.
