Description: C1orf25, also known as TRM1L (TRMT1-like protein), MST070 or MSTP070, is a 733 amino acid protein that belongs to the TRM1 family of proteins. Expressed in a wide variety of tissues, C1orf25 contains one C2H2-type zinc finger and shares sequence similarity with TRMT1, a tRNA methyltransferase that dimethylates guanine at position 26 of tRNAs. As is suggested by observations of C1orf25-deficient mice, C1orf25 is believed to play a role in exploratory behavior and motor coordination. The gene encoding C1orf25 localizes to chromosome 1 and, due to alternative splicing events, C1orf25 exists as at least two isoforms.

Description: The Gap junction beta-2 protein (GJB2), also known as Connexin 26, is member of the gap junction protein family which form structures that were shown to consist of cell-to-cell channels that facilitate the transfer of ions and small molecules between cells. Mutations in the GJB2 gene are thought to be responsible for as much as 35-45% of congenital sensorineural hearing loss in some populations. Other mutations in this gene have also been linked to a wide array of skin diseases.

Description: ICAM-2 is a 55-65 kD transmembrane glycoprotein possessing 2 extracellular Ig domains, a single transmembrane domain, and a short 26-amino acid cytoplasmic domain. ICAM-2 is expressed on most leukocytes, and is strongly expressed on vascular endothelial cells. Interactions of ICAM-2 and the integrin receptors mediate cell adhesion in a wide range of lymphocyte, monocyte, natural killer cell, and granulocytewith other cells, and play important roles in many adhesion-dependent immune and inflammation responses, such as T cell aggregation, NK-cell cytotoxicity and migration, lymphocyte recirculation, etc. Serum levels of ICAM-2 correlated significantly with the inflammatory and course sequences of trichinosis in mice and had a similar relation with blood eosinophilia. So, estimation of ICAM-2 serum levels may prove useful in diagnosis of trichinosis recent infections, and in monitoring the prognosis and response to treatment.

Description: NCAM, as a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily of adhesion molecules is characterized by several immunoglobulin (Ig)-like domains. The extracellular part of NCAM consists of five of these Ig domains and two fibronectin type III homology regions. NCAM is encoded by a single copy gene composed of 26 exons. However, at least 20-30 distinct isoforms can be generated by alternative splicing and by posttranslational modifications, such as sialylation. During sialylation, polysialic acid (PSA) carbohydrates are attached to the extracellular part of NCAM. Through its extracellular region, NCAM mediates homophilic interactions. In addition, NCAM can also undergo heterophilic interactions by binding extracellular matrix components, such as laminin, or other cell adhesion molecules, such as integrins. NCAM is expressed on most neuroectodermal derived cell lines, tissues and neoplasm such as retinoblastoma, medulloblastoma, astrocytomas and neuroblastoma.

Description: PSMD5, , also named as KIAA0072, belongs to the proteasome subunit S5B/HSM3 family. It acts as a chaperone during the assembly of the 26S proteasome, specifically of the base subcomplex of the PA700/19S regulatory complex (RC). In the initial step of the base subcomplex assembly, it is part of an intermediate PSMD5:PSMC2:PSMC1:PSMD2 module which probably assembles with a PSMD10:PSMC4:PSMC5:PAAF1 module followed by dissociation of PSMD5. . This antibody is specific to PSMD5.

Description: TBC1D5, a member of TBC (Tre2/Bub2/Cdc16)1 domain family, is a novel retromer-interacting protein. TBC1D5 is a Rab GTPase-activating proteins (GAPs) proteins that negatively regulates VPS35/29/26 recruitment and causes Rab7 to dissociate from the membrane. TBC1D5 could bridge the endosome and autophagosome via its C-terminal LIR motif, and Rab GAPs are implicated in the reprogramming of the endocytic trafficking events under starvation-induced autophagy.

Description: Proteins containing RNA recognition motifs, including various hnRNP proteins, are implicated in the regulation of alternative splicing and protein components of snRNPs. The RBM (RNA-binding motif) gene family encodes proteins with an RNA binding motif that have been suggested to play a role in the modulation of apoptosis. RBM26 (RNA binding motif protein 26), whose alternative names include CTCL tumor antigen se70-2, C13orf10, ARRS2, SE70-2, ZC3H17, PRO1777, FLJ20957, RP11-255E21.1, MGC133295 or MGC133296, is a 1,007 amino acid protein with six isoforms which result due to alternative splicing. RBM26 also contains one C3H1-type zinc finger and two RRM (RNA recognition motif) domains. The gene encoding RBM26 maps to human chromosome 13q31.1.

Description: The 26S proteasome is a key component of the ubiquitin-proteasome system, a process responsible for the majority of cellular protein degradation. hRpn13 (also termed ADRM1 or GP110) is a novel 46-kDa subunit of its 19S regulatory complex. hRpn13 binds directly to the proteasome-associated deubiquitinating enzyme, UCH37, and enhances its isopeptidase activity. Overexpression of hRpn13 promotes the activity of the ubiquitin-proteasome system and modulates the influence of osteoblasts on osteoclasts by controlling the stability of regulatory proteins in osteoblasts.
