Description: Copper(II) pyrophosphate hydrate is used in printed circuit boards. It catalyzes the dimerization of isobutylene to diisobutylene. It is involved in the electrodeposition of copper-zinc alloys based electrolytes. Further, it is used in animal feed as a supplement. In addition to this, it is used in plating of copper on plastics, aluminum, and zinc.

Description: Spectrin is an actin binding protein that is a major component of the plasma membrane skeleton. Spectrins function as membrane organizers and stabilizers by forming dimers, tetramers and higher polymers. Spectrin Alpha and spectrin Beta are present in erythrocytes, whereas spectrin Alpha II (also designated fodrin Alpha) and spectrin Beta I (also designated fodrin Beta) are present in other somatic cells. The spectrin tetramers in erythrocytes act as barriers to lateral diffusion, but spectrin dimers seem to lack this function. Spectrin Beta III is highly homologous to both spectrin Beta I and spectrin Beta II. Western blot analysis shows that spectrin Beta III migrates at a higher molecular mass than predicted in the kidney. Spectrin Beta III is highly expressed in brain, kidney, pancreas, and liver, and at lower levels in lung and placenta. Specifically, spectrin Beta III constitutes a major component of the Golgi and vesicular membrane skeletons.

Description: MTUS1 contains a C-terminal domain and is able to interact with the angiotension II (AT2) receptor and a large coiled-coil region allowing dimerization. One of the isoforms has been shown to be a mitochondrial protein that acts as a tumor suppressor and partcipates in AT2 signaling pathways. Other isoforms may be nuclear or transmembrane proteins but it has not been determined whether they also participate in AT2 signaling pathways. This gene encodes a protein which contains a C-terminal domain able to interact with the angiotension II (AT2) receptor and a large coiled-coil region allowing dimerization. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. One of the transcript variants has been shown to encode a mitochondrial protein that acts as a tumor suppressor and partcipates in AT2 signaling pathways. Other variants may encode nuclear or transmembrane proteins but it has not been determined whether they also participate in AT2 signaling pathways.

Description: HLA-DMA and -DMB form a functional heterodimer that is critical in the pathway of class II antigen presentation. HLA-DM plays a critical role in catalyzing the release of Class II HLA-associated invariant chain-derived peptides (CLIP) from newly synthesized class II HLA molecules and freeing the peptide binding site for acquisition of antigenic peptides. This antibody recognize the 33kd HLA-DMA and the 50-60kd dimer in Western blotting.

Description: TFR2,a member of the transferrin receptor-like family,is a single-pass type II membrane protein with a protease associated (PA) domain, an M28 peptidase domain and a transferrin receptor-like dimerization domain. This protein mediates cellular uptake of transferrin-bound iron and mutations in this gene have been associated with hereditary hemochromatosis type III.This gene is a member of the transferrin receptor-like family and encodes a single-pass type II membrane protein with a protease associated (PA) domain, an M28 peptidase domain and a transferrin receptor-like dimerization domain. This protein mediates cellular uptake of transferrin-bound iron and mutations in this gene have been associated with hereditary hemochromatosis type III. Alternatively spliced variants which encode different protein isoforms have been described; however, not all variants have been fully characterized. Description: This gene encodes glycyl-tRNA synthetase, one of the aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases that charge tRNAs with their cognate amino acids. The encoded enzyme is an (alpha)2 dimer which belongs to the class II family of tRNA synthetases. It has been shown to be a target of autoantibodies in the human autoimmune diseases, polymyositis or dermatomyositis. [provided by RefSeq]

Description: Interferon gamma receptor 1 (IFNGR1) is also known as CD antigen CD119, which belongs to the type II cytokine receptor family. IFNGR1 contains two fibronectin type-III domains and two Ig-like C2-type (immunoglobulin-like) domains. IFNGR1 / CD119 is receptor for interferon gamma. Two receptors bind one interferon gamma (IFNG) dimer.

Description: This gene is a member of the type II keratin family clustered on the long arm of chromosome 12. Type I and type II keratins heteropolymerize to form intermediate-sized filaments in the cytoplasm of epithelial cells. The product of this gene typically dimerizes with keratin 18 to form an intermediate filament in simple single-layered epithelial cells. This protein plays a role in maintaining cellular structural integrity and also functions in signal transduction and cellular differentiation. Mutations in this gene cause cryptogenic cirrhosis. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2012].

Description: SIII, also known as elongin, is a general transcription elongation factor that increases the RNA polymerase II transcription elongation past template-encoded arresting sites. Subunit A is transcriptionally active and its transcription activity is strongly enhanced by binding to the dimeric complex of the SIII regulatory subunits B and C (elongin BC complex).

Description: DBH is an oxireductase belonging to the copper type II ascorbate-dependent monooxygenase family. DBH exists as a homotetramer composed of two non-covalently bound disulfide-linked dimers. It is present in the synaptic vesicles of postganglionic sympathetic neurons and converts dopamine to norepinephrine. It binds 2 copper ions and 1 PQQ per subunit . Depending on the presence of a signal peptide, DBH can exist in both soluble and membrane-bound forms.
