Description: High density lipoproteins (HDLs) have been proposed to function jointly with lecithin:cholesterol acyltransferase and CETP to facilitate cholesterol transport from tissues to the liver. This mechanism, referred to as reverse cholesterol transport, is physiologically important because it maintains systemic cholesterol levels. CETP is responsible for neutral lipid transfer activity in plasma in numerous species. Since CETP is able to accelerate specifically the exchange of lipid components between pro- and anti-atherogenic lipoprotein fractions, it may be a key determinant of the global atherogenicity of the plasma lipoprotein profile and arises as a possible target in atherosclerosis prevention. CETP has an important role in reverse cholesterol transport and shaping and affecting the composition of plasma lipoproteins. In general elevated levels of CETP have been associated with increased risk of coronary heart disease.

Supplier: Prosci
Description: SLC27A6 Antibody: The solute carrier family 27 (fatty acid transporter), member 6 (SLC27A6) is a member of the fatty acid transport protein family (FATP), which are involved in the uptake of long-chain fatty acids. SLC27A6 is principally expressed in the heart on the sarcolemma and colocalizes with CD36, another molecule involved in the uptake of long chain fatty acids.

Supplier: Prosci
Description: SLC38A4 is found predominantly in liver and transports both cationic and neutral amino acids. The transport of cationic amino acids by SLC38A4 is Na (+) and pH independent, while the transport of neutral amino acids is Na (+) and pH dependent. The modification of proteins with ubiquitin is an important cellular mechanism for targeting abnormal or short-lived proteins for degradation. Ubiquitination involves at least three classes of enzymes: ubiquitin-activating enzymes, or E1s, ubiquitin-conjugating enzymes, or E2s, and ubiquitin-protein ligases, or E3s. This gene encodes a member of the E2 ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme family. Four alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene.

Description: Polyspecific organic cation transporters in the liver, kidney, intestine, and other organs are critical for elimination of many endogenous small organic cations as well as a wide array of drugs and environmental toxins. The encoded protein is a plasma integral membrane protein which functions both as an organic cation transporter and as a sodium-dependent high affinity carnitine transporter. The encoded protein is involved in the active cellular uptake of carnitine. Mutations in this gene are the cause of systemic primary carnitine deficiency (CDSP), an autosomal recessive disorder manifested early in life by hypoketotic hypoglycemia and acute metabolic decompensation, and later in life by skeletal myopathy or cardiomyopathy. Catalog Number: (CAPI14656)
Supplier: Thermo Scientific
Description: This antibody is specific for the ~88 kDa DAT protein in Western blots of SDS solubilized human and mouse striatal samples and in IHC applications with formaldehyde-fixed human and monkey (Macaque) brain sections. The Dopamine Transporter (DAT) is responsible for the reaccumulation of dopamine after it has been released. DAT antibodies and antibodies for other markers of catecholamine biosynthesis are widely used as markers for dopaminergic and noradrenergic neurons in a variety of applications including depression, schizophrenia, Parkinson€™s disease and drug abuse (Kish et al. , 2001; Zhu et al. , 2000; Zhu et al. , 1999). Levels of DAT protein expression are altered by chronic drug administration (Wilson et al. , 1996).

Catalog Number: (10466-830)
Supplier: Bioss
Description: Component of the nuclear pore complex that has a direct role in nuclear protein import. Actively displaces NLSs from importin-alpha, and facilitates disassembly of the importin-alpha:beta-cargo complex and importin recycling. Interacts with multiple transport receptor proteins including CDKN1B. This interaction is required for correct intracellular transport and degradation of CDKN1B.

Catalog Number: (10166-560)
Supplier: Genetex
Description: Rabbit Polyclonal antibody to ATP6V1B2 (ATPase, H+ transporting, lysosomal 56/58kDa, V1 subunit B2)

Catalog Number: (10470-950)
Supplier: Bioss
Description: NUP160 is 1 of up to 60 proteins that make up the 120 MD nuclear pore complex, which mediates nucleoplasmic transport. NUP160 forms part of the Nup160 subcomplex in the nuclear pore which is composed of NUP160, Nup133, Nup107 and Nup96. This complex plays a role in RNA export and in tethering Nup98 and Nup153 to the nucleus. NUP160 is involved in poly(A)+ RNA transport.
