Description: Desmosomes are cell-cell junctions between epithelial, myocardial, and certain other cell types. DSG2 is a calcium-binding transmembrane glycoprotein component of desmosomes in vertebrate epithelial cells. Currently, three desmoglein subfamily members have been identified and all are members of the cadherin cell adhesion molecule superfamily. These desmoglein gene family members are located in a cluster on chromosome 18. This second family member is expressed in colon, colon carcinoma, and other simple and stratified epithelial-derived cell lines.Desmosomes are cell-cell junctions between epithelial, myocardial, and certain other cell types. This gene product is a calcium-binding transmembrane glycoprotein component of desmosomes in vertebrate epithelial cells. Currently, three desmoglein subfamily members have been identified and all are members of the cadherin cell adhesion molecule superfamily. These desmoglein gene family members are located in a cluster on chromosome 18. This second family member is expressed in colon, colon carcinoma, and other simple and stratified epithelial-derived cell lines. Mutations in this gene have been associated with arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia, familial, 10. Description: Cytokeratin 7 is a basic cytokeratin, which is found in most glandular and transitional epithelia but not in the stratified squamous epithelia. Keratin 7 is expressed in the epithelial cells of ovary, lung, and breast but not of colon, prostate, or gastrointestinal tract. Antibody to cytokeratin is useful in distinguishing ovarian carcinomas (keratin 7 ) from colon carcinomas (keratin 7-).

CF® dyes are Biotium's next-generation fluorescent dyes. CF®640R is a far-red fluorescent dye (Ex/Em 642/662 nm) with excellent brightness, and the best photostabiity among spectrally-similar dyes.

Description: Aldehyde dehydrogenases (ALDHs) belong to a superfamily of NAD(P)+-dependent enzymes, which catalyze the oxidation of endogenous and exogenous aldehydes to their corresponding acids. ALDH1B1 is a mitochondrial ALDH that it is dramatically upregulated in human colonic adenocarcinoma, making it a potential biomarker for human colon cancer.. ALDH1B1 is a homotetramer expressed in various adult and fetal human tissues including liver, testis, kidney, skeletal muscle, heart, placenta, brain and lung. This antibody is specific to ALDH1B1.

Description: MACC1 Antibody: Metastasis associated in colon cancer 1 (MACC1) is a key regulator of the hepatocyte growth factor (HGF)-HGF receptor (MET) pathway, which is involved in cellular growth, epithelial-mesenchymal transition, angiogenesis, cell motility, invasiveness, and metastasis. MACC1 protein consists of four domains: ZU5, SH3, and two C-terminal death domains (DD). Expression of MACC1 was found significantly upregulated in malignant tissues (colon cancer of all stages as well as liver and lung metastases) compared to normal tissues or adenomas. MACC1 represents an early and crucial prognostic indicator for colon cancer metastasis that is independent of age, sex, tumor infiltration, nodal status, and lymph vessel invasion. Besides its involvement in signal transduction with the MET receptor, MACC1 also links MET signaling and apoptosis. MACC1 may also be an important therapeutic target for colorectal cancer treatment. At least two isoforms of MACC1 are known to exist.

Description: GPR15L is a newly identified ligand for GPR15, a member of the G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) family. Upon ligation, GPR15L acts as a potent chemoattractant for GPR15-expressing T cells and together they mediate lymphocyte recruitment to the large intestine and skin. GPR15L is constitutively expressed by colon epithelial cells where its expression is minimally altered by intestinal inflammation. Conversely, GPR15L is nearly undetectable in adult epidermis but highly upregulated during wound healing and inflammation, particularly in psoriasis. Significant expression of GPR15L is also seen in additional mucosal epithelial cells, including those of the stomach, esophagus, and urinary tract. While maintaining similar expression patterns and intramolecular disulfide cysteine bridges found in members of the CC chemokine family, GPR15L differs from classic CC and CXC chemokines, whose active sites are found on the N-terminus, in that it relies on its C-terminus for receptor interaction. GPR15L was first identified as an antimicrobial peptide (AMP) due to its broad spectrum of antimicrobial activity, a property shared with many chemokines. GPR15L binds to an additional receptor, SUSD2, and early studies have indicated that both are downregulated in colon cancer tissue resulting in inhibited colon cancer growth. PeproTech's E. coli-derived Recombinant Human GPR15L consists of 57 amino acid residues and has a calculated molecular weight of 6.5 kDa.

Description: The MYB protein is a transcription factor that plays a key role in regulating the proliferation/differentiation of progenitor cells in bone marrow, colonic crypts, and neurogenic niches . It is involved in the regulation of epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) and invasion in neuroblastoma, colon carcinoma, and embryonic kidney cells through the upregulation of the transcription repressor Slug . It also a DNA-binding protein that specifically recognize the sequence 5'-YAAC[GT]G-3', and plays an important role in the control of proliferation and differentiation of hematopoietic progenitor cells.

Description: 40S Ribosomal Protein S19 (RPS19) is a ribosomal protein that Belongs to the ribosomal protein S19e family. RPS19 is located in the nucleoli, and higher level expression is seen in colon carcinoma tissue than normal colon tissue. It required for pre-rRNA processing and maturation of 40S ribosomal subunits. RPS19 plays a role in many biological processes, such as endocrine pancreas development, erythrocyte differentiation, mRNA metabolic process. Defects in RPS19 are the cause of Diamond-Blackfan anemia type 1 (DBA1), which is a form of Diamond-Blackfan anemia, a congenital non-regenerative hypoplastic anemia that usually presents early in infancy. Diamond-Blackfan anemia is characterized by a moderate to severe macrocytic anemia, erythroblastopenia, and an increased risk of malignancy.

Description: The adult colon epithelium contains 3 differentiated cell types that arise from a multipotent stem cell. Deviation from the normal maturation pathway by neoplastic transformation is thought to initiate in stem cells or their early descendants. One potential marker is immature colon carcinoma transcript 1 (ICT1, synonym: DS-1) whose mRNA and protein were more highly expressed in undifferentiated than in differentiated cells. This antibody is a rabbit polyclonal antibody raised against a full-length human ICT1 protein

Description: 15-hydroxyprostaglandin dehydrogenase [NAD(+)], also known as Prostaglandin dehydrogenase 1, 15-PGDH, HPGD and PGDH1, belongs to the short-chain dehydrogenases/reductases (SDR) family. HPGD localizes to the cytoplasm and can be found in colon epithelium, existing as a homodimer. HPGD catalyzes the NAD-dependent dehydrogenation of lipoxin A4 to form 15-oxo-lipoxin A4. HPGD is down-regulated by cortisol, dexamethasone and betamethasone, up-regulated by TGFB1. HPGD inhibits in vivo proliferation of colon cancer cells. HPGD is the key enzyme for the inactivation of prostaglandins, and thus regulates processes such as inflammation or proliferation.
