Description: Leptin is involved in the signaling pathway that regulates the size of the body fat depot. An increase in the level of leptin may act directly or indirectly on the CNS to inhibit food intake and/or regulate energy expenditure as part of a homeostatic mechanism to maintain constancy of the adipose mass. Defects in the leptin gene may be a cause of autosomal recessive obesity.

Description: LIAS(lipoyl synthase, mitochondrial) is also named as LAS and belongs to the radical SAM superfamily and lipoyl synthase family. It produces alpha-lipoic acid, an antioxidant and an essential cofactor in alpha-ketoacid dehydrogenase complexes, which participate in glucose oxidation and ATP generation. The deduced 373-amino acid protein has a calculated molecular mass of about 42 kD. The N-terminal 26 amino acids encode a potential mitochondrial targeting presequence that, upon removal, would result in a deduced mature protein of 347 amino acids with a molecular mass of about 39 kD. Defects in LIAS are a cause of pyruvate dehydrogenase lipoic acid synthetase deficiency (PDHLD).

Description: TMEM27(Transmembrane protein 27) is also named as collectrin and belongs to the TMEM27 family. It is a pancreatic beta-cell surface protein promoting the preservation of functional beta-cell mass and may be responsible for the sodium retention in salt-sensitive hypertension. This full length has two glycosylation sites.

Description: Noggin belongs to a group of diffusible proteins that bind to ligands of the TGF-beta family, and regulate their activity by inhibiting their access to signaling receptors. The interplay between TGF-beta ligands and their natural antagonists has major biological significance during development processes, in which cellular response can vary considerably depending upon the local concentration of the signaling molecule. Noggin was originally identified as a BMP-4 antagonist whose action was critical for proper formation of the head and other dorsal structures. Consequently, noggin has been shown to modulate the activities of other BMPs including BMP-2,-7,-13, and -14. Targeted deletion of noggin in mice results in prenatal death, and a recessive phenotype displaying a severely malformed skeletal system. Conversely, transgenic mice over-expressing noggin in mature osteoblasts display impaired osteoblastic differentiation, reduced bone formation, and severe osteoporosis. Recombinant Human Noggin is a 46 kDa disulfide-linked homodimer consisting of two 205 amino acid polypeptide chains. Monomeric glycosylated noggin migrates at an apparent molecular weight of approximately 28.0-33.0 kDa by SDS PAGE analysis under reducing conditions.

Supplier: FUJIFILM IRVINE SCIENTIFIC, INC
Description: Interleukin 32 alpha (IL-32a) is one of six known splice variants of the IL-32 gene.  IL-32a induces the macrophage production of inflammatory cytokines, such as interleukin 8 (IL-8), tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-a), and macrophage inflammatory protein 2 (MIP2).  IL-32a expression is increased after the activation of T cells, natural killer (NK) cells, and interferon gamma-treated epithelial cells.

Catalog Number: (76117-468)
Supplier: Bioss
Description: Dioxygenase that repairs alkylated DNA and RNA by oxidative demethylation. Has highest activity towards single-stranded RNA containing 3-methyluracil, followed by single-stranded DNA containing 3-methylthymine. Has low demethylase activity towards single-stranded DNA containing 1-methyladenine or 3-methylcytosine. Specifically demethylates N(6)-methyladenosine (m6A) RNA, the most prevalent internal modification of messenger RNA (mRNA) in higher eukaryotes. Has no activity towards 1-methylguanine. Has no detectable activity towards double-stranded DNA. Requires molecular oxygen, alpha-ketoglutarate and iron. Contributes to the regulation of the global metabolic rate, energy expenditure and energy homeostasis. Contributes to the regulation of body size and body fat accumulation.

Description: FGF-4 is a heparin-binding growth factor that is a member of the FGF family. Proteins of this family play a central role during prenatal development, postnatal growth and regeneration of a variety of tissues, by promoting cellular proliferation and differentiation. FGF-4 signals through FGFR 1c, 2c, 3c, and 4. Recombinant Human FGF-4 is a 19.7 kDa protein consisting of 182 amino acid residues.

Description: Asparagine synthetase [glutamine-hydrolyzing](ASNS) is also named as TS11. The asparagine synthetase gene, encoding the enzyme that catalyzes the synthesis of asparagine and glutamate using glutamine and aspartate, is a gene for which transcription is highly regulated by the nutritional status of the cell. It encodes a protein of about 561 amino acids with the predicted molecular mass of 64 kDa.

Description: MDC is a CC chemokine that is produced in B cells, macrophages, monocyte-derived dendritic cells, activated NK cells and CD4 T cells. It signals through the CCR4 receptor. MDC chemoattracts monocytes, dendritic cells and NK cells, and exerts HIV-suppressive activity. The 67 amino acid form of MDC displays reduced chemoattractant activity, but retains HIV-suppressive activity. Recombinant Human MDC is an 8.1 kDa protein containing 69 amino acid residues including the four highly conserved cysteine residues present in the CC chemokines.

Description: Angiopoietin-1 (ANG-1) is a secreted ligand for Tie-2, a tyrosine-kinase receptor expressed primarily on vascular endothelial cells and early hematopoietic cells. ANG-1/Tie-2 signaling promotes angiogenesis during the development, remodeling, and repair of the vascular system. Transgenic mice lacking expression of either ANG-1 or Tie-2 fail to develop a fully functional cardiovascular system and die before birth. Postnatally, the angiogenic activity of ANG-1/Tie-2 is required during normal tissue repair and remodeling of the female endometrium in the menstrual cycle. ANG-1/Tie-2 signaling appears to be regulated by Angiopoietin-2 (ANG-2), a natural antagonist for Tie-2 that exerts its effects through an internal autocrine loop mechanism. In addition to suppressing endothelial cell activation by inhibiting the expression of adhesion and inflammatory molecules, Ang-1 enhances endothelial cell survival and capillary morphogenesis, and lessens capillary permeability. As such, ANG-1 has potential to become an effective therapeutic agent for treating various endothelium disorders, including several severe human pulmonary diseases. The efficacy of cell-based Ang-1 gene therapy for acute lung injury (ALI) has recently been studied in a rat model of ALI. The results of this study show that such therapy can markedly improve lung condition and suggest that Ang-1 therapy may represent a potential new strategy for the treatment and/or prevention of acute respiratory distress injury (ARDI), a significant cause of morbidity and mortality in critically ill patients. Recombinant Human ANG-1, derived from

Description: Synaptophysin (SYP, also known as major synaptic vesicle protein p38) is a 38-kDa integral membrane glycoprotein that regulates synaptic vesicle endocytosis. It is the most abundant synaptic vesicle protein by mass. Synaptophysin is present in neuroendocrine cells and neurons that participate in synaptic transmission. Synaptophysin is a useful marker for identification of neuroendocrine cells and neoplasms.
