Catalog Number: (CA45001-084)
Supplier: Corning
Description: IPTG (isopropylthiogalactoside) is an inducer of the lac operon in bacteria, which is frequently used in cloning as a component of a recombinant plasmid.

Supplier: CUBE BIOTECH
Description: IPTG is a modified sugar that can be used to induce protein expression under the control of the lacUV promotor. Our IPTG is of highest quality and purity. Like allolactose, IPTG binds to the lac repressor and releases the tetrameric repressor from the lac operator in an allosteric manner, thereby allowing the transcription of genes in the lac operon. But unlike allolactose, the sulfur (S) atom creates a chemical bond which is non-hydrolyzable by the cell, preventing the cell from metabolizing or degrading the inducer. The concentration of IPTG therefore remains constant and the expression of lac p/o-controlled genes would not be inhibited during the experiment.

Supplier: Rockland Immunochemical
Description: Human Galectin-2 AccuSignal ELISA Kit

Catalog Number: (89360-778)
Supplier: Genetex
Description: Beta galactosidase is coded by a gene (lac z) in the lac operon of Escherichia coli. It is a metalloenzyme that splits lactose into glucose and galactose. It hydrolyzes terminal, non-reducing beta-D-galactose residues in beta-D-galactosides. Activation by cations seems to be substrate dependent. K+, Na+, NH4+, Rb+, Cs+ and Mn++ all activate enzyme activity based upon the substrate used.

Catalog Number: (97060-740)
Supplier: IBI Scientific
Description: X-GAL is a histochemical substrate for β-galactosidase, allowing the detection of lac gene expression

Catalog Number: (CA82023-106)
Supplier: G-Biosciences
Description: IPTG is a molecular mimic of allolactose that initiates transcription of the lac operon.

Supplier: Thermo Scientific Chemicals
Description: alpha-Galactosidase substrate for Lac-gene detection systems
Catalog Number: (CA80056-910)
Supplier: MilliporeSigma
Description: (Isopropyl-b-D-thiogalactopyranoside). Off-white solid. HYGROSCOPIC. A free flowing, hygroscopic carbohydrate that induces expression of the lac operon of E. coli by allosterically interacting with the repressor molecule. Inducer of b-D-galactosidase.

Catalog Number: (CA45001-092)
Supplier: Corning
Description: X-Gal (5-bromo-4-chloro-3-indolyl-b-D-galactopyranoside) is a substrate of b-galactosidase, a gene product of the lac operon in E. coli.

Catalog Number: (10072-948)
Supplier: Prosci
Description: Lectins, of either plant or animal origin, are carbohydrate binding proteins that interact with glycoprotein and glycolipids on the surface of animal cells. The Galectins are lectins that recognize and interact with beta-galactoside moieties. Galectin-1 is an animal lectin that has been shown to interact with CD3, CD4, and CD45. It induces apoptosis of activated T-cells and T-leukemia cell lines and inhibits the protein phosphatase activity of CD45. Recombinant human Galectin-1 is a 14.5 kDa protein containing 134 amino acid residues.

Supplier: FUJIFILM IRVINE SCIENTIFIC, INC
Description: Galectin-1 belongs to the lectin family of carbohydrate binding proteins and binds glycans as both a monomer and a homodimer. Galectin-1 is produced in peripheral lymphoid organs and inflammatory sites. Galectin-1 plays important roles in acute and chronic inflammatory processes, cell growth, cell proliferation, and induces apoptosis of activated T cells. Galectin-1 also modulates cytokine secretion and inhibits pro-inflammatory cytokine production.

Supplier: Bioss
Description: Cooperates with LY96 and CD14 to mediate the innate immune response to bacterial lipopolysaccharide (LPS). Acts via MYD88, TIRAP and TRAF6, leading to NF-kappa-B activation, cytokine secretion and the inflammatory response. Also involved in LPS-independent inflammatory responses triggered by free fatty acids, such as palmitate, and Ni²⁺. Responses triggered by Ni²⁺ require non-conserved histidines and are, therefore, species-specific. Both M.tuberculosis HSP70 (dnaK) and HSP65 (groEL-2) act via this protein to stimulate NF-kappa-B expression. In complex with TLR6, promotes sterile inflammation in monocytes/macrophages in response to oxidized low-density lipoprotein (oxLDL) or amyloid-beta 42. In this context, the initial signal is provided by oxLDL- or amyloid-beta 42-binding to CD36. This event induces the formation of a heterodimer of TLR4 and TLR6, which is rapidly internalized and triggers inflammatory response, leading to the NF-kappa-B-dependent production of CXCL1, CXCL2 and CCL9 cytokines, via MYD88 signaling pathway, and CCL5 cytokine, via TICAM1 signaling pathway, as well as IL1B secretion. Binds electronegative LDL (LDL-) and mediates the cytokine release induced by LDL.
