Description: Caspase-12 Antibody: Three distinct signaling pathways lead to programmed cell death (apoptosis). The death receptor and mitochondrion pathways are the mains, in which the key apoptotic proteases capase-8 and caspase-9, respectively, are involved. The endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress is the third apoptotic pathway and caspase-12 is involved. Caspase-12 is localized to the ER but not to cytoplasm or mitochondrion. Caspase-12 is activated by ER stress, including disruption of ER calcium homeostasis, and mediates ER stress-induced apoptosis. Caspase-12 is co-localized to the ER with several proteins that are involved in Alzheimer's disease including gamma-secretase presenilin and beta-amyloid precursor protein (APP). Caspase-12 mediates cytotoxicity induced by amyloid-beta. Caspase-12 is ubiquitously expressed in mouse tissues.

Description: Dickkopf-related protein 3 (DKK3) belongs to the DKK protein family including Dkk-1, 2, 3 and -4. DKK3 is a 350 amino acid secreted glycoprotein which is comprised of an N-terminal signal peptide and 2 conserved cysteine-rich domains that are separated by a 12 amino acid linker region. Dkk-3 also have one prokineticin domain. DKK3 is involved in embryonic development through its inhibition of the WNT signaling pathway. The Dkk family also includes Soggy, which is homologous to Dkk-3 but not to the other family members. Soggy has not been shown to inhibit Wnt signaling, and its role in the pathway is unclear.

Description: ARMC3 contains 12 ARM repeats. ARM (Armadillo/beta-catenin-like) domains are imperfect 45-amino acid repeats involved in protein-protein interactions. ARM domain-containing proteins, such as ARMC3, function in signal transduction, development, cell adhesion and mobility, and tumor initiation and metastasis. The specific function of ARMC3 is not yet known.

Description: ADAM (a disintegrin and metalloprotease) proteins are a family of over 30 membrane-anchored, glycosylated, Zn2+ dependent proteases that are involved in cell-cell, cell-matrix interface related processes including fertilization, muscle fusion, secretion of TNF?(tumor necrosis factor ?, and modulation of the neurogenic function of Notch and Delta (1-3). ADAM proteins possess a signal-domain, a pro-domain, a metalloprotease domain, a disintegrin domain (Integrin ligand), a cysteine-rich region, an epidermal growth factor-like domain, a transmembrane domain and a cytoplasmic tail (1-3). ADAMs are expressed in brain, testis, epididymis, ovary, breast, placenta, liver, heart, lung, bone, and muscle, and catalyze proteolysis, adhesion, fusion, and intracellular signaling (3). ADAM 12 (Meltrin-a) is produced as 2 differentially spliced isoforms, a 718 amino acid secreted form (ADAM12S) and a 881 amino acid membrane-bound form (ADAM12L), and is involved in egg-sperm fusion (4-6).

Description: The coiled-coil domain is a structural motif found in proteins that are involved in a diverse array of biological functions such as the regulation of gene expression, cell division, membrane fusion and drug extrusion and delivery. CCDC38 (coiled-coil domain containing 38) is a 563 amino acid protein encoded by a gene that maps to human chromosome 12q23.1. Encoding over 1,100 genes, chromosome 12 comprises approximately 4.5% of the human genome. Chromosome 12 is associated with a variety of diseases and afflictions, including hypochondrogenesis, achondrogenesis, Kniest dysplasia, Noonan syndrome and trisomy 12p, which causes facial developmental defects and seizure disorders.

Description: C12orf23 (chromosome 12 open reading frame 23), also known as FLJ11721, FLJ13959 or MGC17943, is a 116 amino acid multi-pass membrane protein belonging to the UPF0444 family. C12orf23 is encoded by a gene located on human chromosome 12, which encodes over 1,100 genes and comprises approximately 4.5% of the human genome. Chromosome 12 is associated with a number of skeletal deformities, including hypochondrogenesis, achondrogenesis and Kniest dysplasia. Noonan syndrome, which includes heart and facial developmental defects among the primary symptoms, is caused by a mutant form of PTPN11 gene product, SH-PTP2. Chromosome 12 is also home to a homeobox gene cluster which encodes crucial transcription factors for morphogenesis, and the natural killer complex gene cluster encoding C-type lectin proteins which mediate the NK cell response to MHC I interaction. Trisomy 12p leads to facial development defects, seizure disorders and a host of other symptoms varying in severity depending on the extent of mosaicism and is most severe in cases of complete trisomy.
