Description: DISC1, also named as KIAA0457, is identified as the sole gene whose ORF is truncated and cosegregates with major mental illnesses in a Scottish family. DISC1 may be implicated in psychiatric conditions in other populations than the unique Scottish family. It is involved in the regulation of multiple aspects of embryonic and adult neurogenesis. DISC1 is required for neural progenitor proliferation in the ventrical/subventrical zone during embryonic brain development and in the adult dentate gyrus of the hippocampus. It plays a role, together with PCNT, in the microtubule network formation. In WB, DISC1 has some MW such as 34kd;75-85kd and 95-100kd. DISC1 isoforms have distinct developmental patterns of expression. This antibody is against C-terminal of DISC1, binding full length protein specifically.

Description: In mice, the death inducer-obliterator-1 gene is upregulated by apoptotic signals and encodes a cytoplasmic protein that translocates to the nucleus upon apoptotic signal activation. When overexpressed, the mouse protein induced apoptosis in cell lines growing in vitro. DIDO1 gene is similar to the mouse gene and therefore is thought to be involved in apoptosis.Apoptosis, a major form of cell death, is an efficient mechanism for eliminating unwanted cells and is of central importance for development and homeostasis in metazoan animals. In mice, the death inducer-obliterator-1 gene is upregulated by apoptotic signals and encodes a cytoplasmic protein that translocates to the nucleus upon apoptotic signal activation. When overexpressed, the mouse protein induced apoptosis in cell lines growing in vitro. This gene is similar to the mouse gene and therefore is thought to be involved in apoptosis. Alternatively spliced transcripts have been found for this gene, encoding multiple isoforms.

Description: DISP1 Antibody: DISP1 is the mammalian homolog of the Drosophila Dispatched segment-polarity gene and a key regulator of the Hedgehog (Hh) signaling pathway during embryonic development. DISP1 is required to move Shh from site of synthesis during embryogenesis; mutations in the gene result in lethality at mid-gestation and prevents specification of ventral cell types in the neural tube. Recent results have shown that DISP1 mediates the basolateral secretion of Shh and regulates growth of mammalian long bones through the control of Ihh.

Description: KIFC1 is a molecular motor protein belonging to the kinesin-14 family that has motor domains at the C-terminus. KIFC1 is widely distributed, with highest expression in testis and participating in acrosome biogenesis and vesicle transport. It is also abundant in ovary, spleen, and liver. KIFC1 proteins are generally localized in the perinuclear region, and have been found to be involved chromosome alignment, congression and intracellular DNA transport. This antibody was raised against the C-terminal region of human KIFC1 protein, and recognizes 55-70 kDa of endogenous KIFC1 protein in multiple tissue lysates. (12826589, 15236353, 23543461)
