Antibodies

The BCL6 gene encodes a 706 amino acid nuclear protein of the Kruppeltype zinc finger protein. It is rearranged in about 30% of diffuse large B-cell lymphomas, and is expressed predominantly in normal germinal centre B cells and related lymphomas. The antibody is a useful aid for classification of follicular lymphomas, diffuse large B-cell lymphomas, Burkitt's lymphomas, and nodular, lymphocyte-predominance Hodgkin's lymphoma. The BCL6 antibody, together with BCL2 antibody, is also a useful aid in classification of mantle cell lymphomas, and nodular, lymphocytepredominance Hodgkin's lymphoma. BCL6 protein is not expressed in BCLL, hairy cell leukemia, mantle cell and marginal-zone derived lymphomas
