HardyCHROM™ Candida is a selective and differential medium containing chromogenic substrates
After degradation by specific enzymes, the substrates release different colored compounds. Certain species or groups of organisms can then be differentiated with a minimum number of confirmatory tests. HardyCHROM™ CRE Agar is a selective and differential chromogenic medium, containing a carbapenem, intended for use as a plating technique to obtain a pure culture of gram-negative bacteria that produce carbapenemase. The test is performed with a mixed population of microorganisms from a laboratory sample. HardyCHROM™ CRE Agar is not intended for use in the identification of colonization with carbapenem-resistant bacteria to aid in the prevention and control of such bacteria in healthcare settings. HardyCHROM™ CRE Agar is not intended to diagnose infections by carbapenem-resistant bacteria, guide or monitor treatment for infections, or provide susceptibility results to a carbapenem. Sub-culturing is necessary for microorganism identification, susceptibility testing, and epidemiological typing.
HardyCHROM™ ESBL Agar is a selective and differential chromogenic medium, containing an extended-spectrum beta-lactam, intended for use as a plating technique to obtain a pure culture of Enterobacteriaceae that produce extended-spectrum beta-lactamase (ESBL).
HardyCHROM™ MRSA is a selective and differential culture medium that facilitates the isolation and identification of methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) to aid in the prevention and control of MRSA infections in health care settings. The test is performed on anterior nares swabs from patients and healthcare workers to screen for MRSA colonization. HardyCHROM™ MRSA is not intended to diagnose MRSA infection nor to guide or monitor therapy for MRSA infections. Concomitant cultures are necessary to recover organisms for susceptibility testing or epidemiological typing. A negative result does not preclude MRSA nasal colonization.
HardyCHROM™ Urine Biplate (HUrBi™) is a selective chromogenic medium recommended for the cultivation, differentiation and enumeration of urinary tract pathogens based on colony color and morphology. Selective agents have been added to the each side of the biplate to select for growth of gram-positive organisms and yeast on one side and to select for growth of gram-negative organisms on the other side of the biplate.
HardyCHROM™ UTI is a non-selective chromogenic medium recommended for the cultivation, differentiation and enumeration of urinary tract pathogens based on colony color and morphology.
