Acetonitrile with 0,1% (v/v) formic acid for LC-MS, Pierce™
Supplier: Thermo Scientific
Pierce™ 0.1% Formic Acid (v/v) in Acetonitrile is an LC/MS-grade preparation with high purity and low UV-absorptivity that is ideal for HPLC and mass spectrometry applications.
- Tested more than 20 ways to ensure maximal LC/MS sensitivity
- Processed, filtered and sealed to extend LC/MS column life
- Packaged to eliminate variability and reduce handling
This 0.1% Formic Acid in Acetonitrile is specially purified by a proprietary method and tested to ensure lot-to-lot consistency with a low UV absorbance, providing the most sensitive detection across wavelengths and prolonging equipment life. The chromatography- and spectrometry-grade 0.1% FA in acetonitrile is 0.2-micron filtered, packaged in solvent-rinsed amber glass bottles and sealed under a nitrogen with PTFE-lined fluorocarbon caps for ultimate protection.
This preparation of Thermo Scientific 0.1% Formic Acid (v/v) in Acetonitrile is specially purified and tested to the highest specifications to ensure the integrity of chromatography data, maximize assay sensitivity and prolong the life of equipment.
Formic acid is a common component of reverse-phase mobile phases that provide protons for LC/MS analysis. The presence of a low concentration of formic acid in the mobile phase is also known to improve the peak shapes of the resulting separation. Unlike trifluoroacetic acid (TFA), formic acid is not an ion-pairing agent and it does not suppress MS ionization of polypeptides when used as a mobile-phase component.
