The Rapid Response™ RSV Test Cassette is intended for the rapid, qualitative detection of respiratory syncytial virus fusion protein directly from nasopharyngeal swab and nasal aspirate specimens in children less than 6 years and adults over the age of 60. The test is intended for use as an aid in the rapid laboratory diagnosis of acute respiratory syncytial virus infection in patients with symptoms consistent with RSV infection.

To perform the test, agitate the specimen swab or aspirate sample in the provided processing tube. Draw the sample into a disposable pipette and add to the extraction tube. Add 4 drops of extraction reagent solution to the extraction tube and then mix the solution. Draw the sample solution with a disposable pipette (up to the second notch) and squeeze the entire content into the sample well of the test device. Read the test result between 15 and 25 minutes. Interpretation of results are: 2 colored lines, one in Control Region (C) and another in Test Region (T), is positive, 1 line in the Control Region (C) and no line in the Test Region (T) is negative, no lines or no line in the Control Region (C) is invalid.

Delivery information: Each kit contains individually packaged test devices, sterile nasopharyngeal swabs, specimen processing tubes, sterile normal saline vials, extraction tubes, disposable pipettes, extraction reagent solution, positive control reagent, negative control reagent, and instructions for use.
