The Rapid Response® Strep A Rapid Test Device is a rapid visual immunoassay that detects Strep A in throat swabs to help diagnose and administer therapy treatment immediately.

Beta-hemolytic Group A Streptococcus is a major cause of upper respiratory infections such as tonsillitis, pharyngitis, and scarlet fever. Early diagnosis and treatment has been shown to reduce the severity of symptoms and further complications, such as rheumatic fever and glomerulonephritis. Conventional methods for detecting Strep A infection are dependent on isolation and subsequent identification of the organism, and often require 24-48 hours. With Rapid Response® Strep A Rapid Test Device, get results in just 5 minutes from a quick throat swab.

Each kit contains individually packaged test cassettes. "C" and "T" are printed directly on the cassette for easy-to-read test results. Reagent bottles, sterile swabs, extraction tubes, nozzles with filter, controls, a tube stand, and a detailed instructions are included in every kit.

To perform the test, place an extraction tube in the tube stand and add 4 drops of reagent 1 and reagent 2 to the tube. Mix the solution and immediately immerse the swab with the collected throat sample into the tube. Let stand for 1-2 minutes and then remove the swab. Attach the nozzle onto the tube. Add 3 drops of extracted solution onto the sample well on the test cassette and then read the results at 5 minutes. Interpretation of results are: 2 colored lines one in control region (C) and another in test region (T) is positive, 1 line in the control region (C) and no line in the test region (T) is negative, no lines or no line in the Control Region (C) is invalid.

Caution: For in vitro diagnostic use only. Please refer to the instruction provided in the kit before use. Read the entire procedure carefully prior to testing. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package. Do not reuse tests.
