Description: The region of chromosome 21 between genes CBR and ERG (CBR-ERG region), which spans 2.5 Mb on 21q22.2, has been defined by analysis of patients with partial trisomy 21. It contributes significantly to the pathogenesis of many characteristics of Down syndrome, including morphological features, hypotonia, and mental retardation. The DSCR3 (Down syndrome critical region gene 3) gene is found in this region and is predictated to contain eight exons. DSCR3 is expressed in most tissues examined. (provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008).

Description: Diacylglycerol kinases (DGKs) are regulators of the intracellular concentration of the second messenger diacylglycerol (DAG) and thus play a key role in cellular processes. Nine mammalian isotypes have been identified, which are encoded by separate genes. Mammalian DGK isozymes contain a conserved catalytic (kinase) domain and a cysteine-rich domain (CRD). The protein encoded by this gene is a diacylglycerol kinase, beta isotype. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Description: CD103/Integrin alpha E is a new member of the integrin series of adhesion molecules containing the beta7 subunit. This antigen defines a developmentally important subset of T cells, namely mucosal T cells including all IEL (intraepithelial lymphocytes) and ~20% of lamina propria T cells. Expression of CD103 is more restricted outside these mucosal organs, appearing at lower levels on T cell subsets of the lymph node, dendritic epidermis and periphery. In non-epithelial CD103+ T cells there is a bias toward expression on CD8+ cells. Integrin alpha E is a heterodimer comprising a 150kDa alpha chain and a 120kDa beta chain. Integrin alpha E is expressed by approximately 1% of peripheral blood lymphocytes, activated T lymphocytes and by hairy cell leukaemia cells. The antigen is also expressed by intraepithelial lymphocytes.

Description: G-protein coupled receptor that functions as receptor for endogenous enkephalins and for a subset of other opioids. Ligand binding causes a conformation change that triggers signaling via guanine nucleotide-binding proteins (G proteins) and modulates the activity of down-stream effectors, such as adenylate cyclase. Signaling leads to the inhibition of adenylate cyclase activity. Inhibits neurotransmitter release by reducing calcium ion currents and increasing potassium ion conductance. Plays a role in the perception of pain and in opiate-mediated analgesia. Plays a role in developing analgesic tolerance to morphine.

Description: This gene encodes a calcium transporter that localizes to the mitochondrial inner membrane. The encoded protein interacts with mitochondrial calcium uptake 1. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. (provided by RefSeq, Jul 2012).

Description: Integrin alpha 4 (also called CD49d) is a 150 kDa protein that possesses a large extracellular domain involved in ligand binding, a single transmembrane domain, and an intracellular regulatory domain possessing multiple sites for phosphorylation. Integrin alpha 4 forms heterodimers with integrins beta 1 and beta 7. Integrin alpha 4 is expressed on leukocytes and leukocyte precursors, neural crest cells, and developing skeletal muscles and is essential for embryogenesis, hematopoiesis, and immune responses. The presence of integrin alpha 4 promotes cell migration and inhibits cell spreading and contractility. Integrin alpha 4 function has been implicated in the pathogenesis of multiple diseases including asthma, rheumatoid arthritis, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, hepatitis C, and multiple sclerosis, and therefore, modulation of integrin alpha 4 function has become an important target for drug discovery.

Description: G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs), also designated seven transmembrane (7TM) receptors or heptahelical receptors, interact with G proteins (heterotrimeric GTPases) to synthesize intracellular second messengers, such as diacylglycerol, cyclic AMP, inositol phosphates and calcium ions. Their diverse biological functions range from vision and olfaction to neuronal and endocrine signaling and are involved in many pathological conditions. LGR4 (leucine-rich repeat-containing G protein-coupled receptor 4), also known as GPR48, is a 951 amino acid multi-pass membrane protein that contains 15 LRR (leucine-rich repeats) and belongs to the GPCR family. Expressed in multiple tissues, including testis, ovary, placenta, stomach, heart, kidney, pancreas and spleen, LGR4 functions as an orphan receptor that may be involved in physiologic activities throughout the cell. LGR4 is overexpressed in various cancer types and is thought to enhance carcinoma invasiveness and metastasis, suggesting an important role in tumor progression.

Description: SPATA5L1 is a 753 amino acid protein belonging to the AAA ATPase family and AFG2 subfamily. Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) present in SPATA5L1 at the glycine amidinotransferase (GATM)-SPATA5L1 locus have been found to correlate with glomerular filtration rate (GFR), having significant implications for kidney disease research. SPATA5L1 localizes to cytoplasm and exists as three alternatively spliced isoforms. The gene encoding SPATA5L1 maps to human chromosome 15q21.1. Encoding more than 700 genes, chromosome 15 is made up of approximately 106 million base pairs and comprises about 3% of the human genome. Tay-Sachs disease is a lethal disorder associated with mutations of the HEXA gene, which is encoded by chromosome 15. Marfan syndrome is associated with chromosome 15 through the FBN1 gene.

Supplier: Bioss
Description: Associated component of the MCM complex that acts as a regulator of DNA replication. Binds to the MCM complex during late S phase and promotes the disassembly of the MCM complex from chromatin, thereby acting as a key regulator of pre-replication complex (pre-RC) unloading from replicated DNA. Can dissociate the MCM complex without addition of ATP; probably acts by destabilizing interactions of each individual subunits of the MCM complex. Required for sister chromatid cohesion.
