Description: Endoglycosidase that cleaves heparan sulfate proteoglycans (HSPGs) into heparan sulfate side chains and core proteoglycans. Participates in extracellular matrix (ECM) degradation and remodeling. Selectively cleaves the linkage between a glucuronic acid unit and an N-sulfo glucosamine unit carrying either a 3-O-sulfo or a 6-O-sulfo group. Can also cleave the linkage between a glucuronic acid unit and an N-sulfo glucosamine unit carrying a 2-O-sulfo group, but not linkages between a glucuronic acid unit and a 2-O-sulfated iduronic acid moiety. It is essentially inactive at neutral pH but becomes active under acidic conditions such as during tumor invasion and in inflammatory processes. Facilitates cell migration associated with metastasis, wound healing and inflammation. Enhances shedding of syndecans, and increases endothelial invasion and angiogenesis in myelomas. Acts as procoagulant by increasing the generation of activation factor X in the presence of tissue factor and activation factor VII. Increases cell adhesion to the extacellular matrix (ECM), independent of its enzymatic activity. Induces AKT1/PKB phosphorylation via lipid rafts increasing cell mobility and invasion. Heparin increases this AKT1/PKB activation. Regulates osteogenesis. Enhances angiogenesis through up-regulation of SRC-mediated activation of VEGF. Implicated in hair follicle inner root sheath differentiation and hair homeostasis.

Description: GALNS(N-acetylgalactosamine-6-sulfatase) is also named as chondroitinase and belongs to the sulfatase family. It is one of sulfatases required to degrade glycosaminoglycans (GAGs), keratan sulfate (KS) and chondroitin-6-sulfate (C6S) and the enzyme is a dimer derived from two 60 kDa polypeptides, each of which is processed to 40 kDa and 15 kDa polypeptide subunits linked by disulfide bonds. The deduced 522-residue protein is composed of a 26-amino acid N-terminal signal peptide and a mature polypeptide of 496 amino acid residues, including 2 potential asparagine-linked glycosylation sites. Defects in GALNS are the cause of mucopolysaccharidosis type 4A (MPS4A), also known as Morquio A syndrome.

Supplier: Bioss
Description: The protein encoded by this gene catalyzes the conversion of sulfated steroid precursors to estrogens during pregnancy. The encoded protein is found in the endoplasmic reticulum, where it acts as a homodimer. Mutations in this gene are known to cause X-linked ichthyosis (XLI). [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008].

Description: HPSE(Heparanase) is also named as HEP, HPA, HPA1, HPR1, HPSE1, HSE1 and belongs to the glycosyl hydrolase 79 family. It is a endoglycosidase that cleaves heparan sulfate proteoglycans (HSPGs) into heparan sulfate side chains and core proteoglycans. HPSE is essential in the disassembly of the extracellular matrix (ECM) by invading cells. It has 3 isoforms produced by alternative splicing with the molecular weight of 61 kDa, 55 kDa and 53 kDa. The full length protein has six glycosylation sites. The cleavage of the 65 kDa form leads to the generation of a linker peptide, and 8 kDa and 50 kDa products. The active form, the 8/50 kDa heterodimer, is resistant to degradation and glycosylation of the 50 kDa subunit appears to be essential for its solubility.

Supplier: Bachem Americas
Description: Fmoc-Tyr(SO₃nP), a protected derivative of sulfotyrosine. The neopentyl ester is stable under the conditions of Fmoc-SPPS including the TFA-cleavage, but can be removed by treatment with aqueous ammonium acetate or sodium acetate. Thus, premature loss of sulfate groups during the final deprotection is prevented.
