Description: This gene encodes a protein with multiple coiled coil motifs which is located in the nucleus, cytoplasm and mitochondria. The protein is involved in neurite outgrowth and cortical development through its interaction with other proteins. This gene is disrupted in a ttranslocation which segregates with schizophrenia and related psychiatric disorders in a large Scottish family. Alternate transcriptional splice variants, encoding different isoforms, have been characterized.

Description: Acts as a facilitator of innate immune signaling. Able to activate both NF-kappa-B and IRF3 transcription pathways to induce expression of type I interferon (IFN-alpha and IFN-beta) and exert a potent anti-viral state following expression. May be involved in translocon function, the translocon possibly being able to influence the induction of type I interferons. May be involved in transduction of apoptotic signals via its association with the major histocompatibility complex class II (MHC-II). Mediates death signaling via activation of the extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) pathway.

Description: This antibody is predicted to react with canine based on sequence homology. This gene is a member of the VAV gene family. The VAV proteins are guanine nucleotide exchange factors for Rho family GTPases that activate pathways leading to actin cytoskeletal rearrangements and transcriptional alterations. This gene product acts as a GEF preferentially for RhoG, RhoA, and to a lesser extent, RAC1, and it associates maximally with the nucleotide-free states of these GTPases. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described for this gene.

Description: Protein kinases are enzymes that transfer a phosphate group from a phosphate donor, generally the g phosphate of ATP, onto an acceptor amino acid in a substrate protein. By this basic mechanism, protein kinases mediate most of the signal transduction in eukaryotic cells, regulating cellular metabolism, transcription, cell cycle progression, cytoskeletal rearrangement and cell movement, apoptosis, and differentiation. With more than 500 gene products, the protein kinase family is one of the largest families of proteins in eukaryotes. The family has been classified in 8 major groups based on sequence comparison of their tyrosine (PTK) or serine/threonine (STK) kinase catalytic domains. The tyrosine kinase (TK) group is mainly involved in the regulation of cell-cell interactions such as differentiation, adhesion, motility and death. There are currently about 90 TK genes sequenced, 58 are of receptor protein TK (e.g. EGFR, EPH, FGFR, PDGFR, TRK, and VEGFR families), and 32 of cytosolic TK (e.g. ABL, FAK, JAK, and SRC families).

Description: This antibody is predicted to react with chicken, canine, hamster, mouse, rat, rabbit and Xenopus based on sequence homology. MEK1is a dual specificity protein kinase that belongs to the MAP kinase kinase family. This kinase is known to play a critical role in mitogen growth factor signal transduction. It phosphorylates and thus activates MAPK1/ERK2 and MAPK2/ERK3. The activation of this kinase itself is dependent on the Ser/Thr phosphorylation by MAP kinase kinase kinases. The inhibition or degradation of this kinase is found to be involved in the pathogenesis of Yersinia and anthrax.

Description: Creatine Kinase (CK) is a dimeric enzyme composed of either M- or B-type subunits. The resulting isoenzymes are expressed at varying levels in different tissues. CK-BB, a cytoplasmic predominantly found in brain tissues, participates in energy homeostasis, reversibly catalyzing the transfer of a phosphate group between ATP and target proteins such as a creatine phosphate. CK-BB exists in normally neglible amounts in the serum of adults, overexpression of CK-BB is associated with cancers of the breast, ovary, prostate, colon, and in small-cell lung cancer. Global assessment of changes in serum levels of CK-BB, CK-MB and CK-MM, are used as a marker for myocardial infarction.

Description: This antibody is predicted to react with canine, mouse and rat based on sequence homology. The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the serine protease inhibitor superfamily made up of proteins which play central roles in the regulation of a wide variety of physiological processes, including coagulation, fibrinolysis, development, malignancy and inflammation. The gene product may have a role in a growth-control, possibly growth-suppressing pathway and, when impaired, may be involved in pancreatic carcinogenesis. The protein is a member of the plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 family, a subset of the serpin superfamily whose members act as tissue-specific tPA inhibitors. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct protein isoforms have been found for this gene.

Description: This antibody is predicted to react with bovine, canine, mouse, porcine and rat based on sequence homology. The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the superfamily of ATP-binding cassette transporters. ABC proteins transport various molecules across extra- and intra-cellular membranes. ABC genes are divided into seven distinct subfamilies . This protein is a member of the MRP subfamily which is involved in multi-drug resistance. This protein functions in the cellular export of its substrate, cyclic nucleotides. This export contributes to the degradation of phosphodiesterases and possibly an elimination pathway for cyclic nucleotides. Studies show that this protein provides resistance to thiopurine anticancer drugs, 6-mercatopurine and thioguanine, and the anti-HIV drug 9-adenine. This protein may be involved in resistance to thiopurines in acute lymphoblastic leukemia and antiretroviral nucleoside analogs in HIV-infected patients. Alternative splicing of this gene has been detected; however, the complete sequence and translation initiation site is unclear.

Description: This antibody is predicted to react with non-human primate and rat based on sequence homology. Also known as ATP:3-phosphoglycerate 1-phosphotransferase (EC 2.7.2.3), this major enzyme in glycolysis catalyzes the reversible conversion of 1,3-diphosphoglycerate to 3-phosphoglycerate, generating one molecule of ATP. New blood vessel formation or angiogenesis is critical for tumor expansion and metastasis. Lay et al. (2000) showed that the plasmin reductase isolated from conditioned medium of fibrosarcoma cells is the glycolytic enzyme phosphoglycerate kinase. They concluded that phosphoglycerate kinase not only functions in glycolysis but is secreted by tumor cells and participates in the angiogenic process as a disulfide reductase.

Description: This Antibody targets PARP (Poly ADP-Ribose Polymerase) in IHC (P) and WB applications and shows reactivity with mouse, Rat, and Human samples. The immunogen is a synthetic peptide for the N-terminal region of human PARP. Poly ADP-Ribose Polymerase (PARP) uses nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (oxidized form) NAD as a substrate to catalyse the transfer of ADP-ribose to a variety of nuclear protein acceptors. Proteolysis of PARP to its stable 85kDa fragment is an early marker of programmed cell death (apoptosis) and is mediated by the caspase CPP32 protein. Cleavage occurs between Adp216 and Gly217, a site in PARP conserved across species.

Description: Macroautophagy is the major inducible pathway for the general turnover of cytoplasmic constituents in eukaryotic cells, it is also responsible for the degradation of active cytoplasmic enzymes and organelles during nutrient starvation. Macroautophagy involves the formation of double-membrane bound autophagosomes which enclose the cytoplasmic constituent targeted for degradation in a membrane bound structure, which then fuse with the lysosome (or vacuole) releasing a single-membrane bound autophagic bodies which are then degraded within the lysosome (or vacuole). Two human homologs of the yeast autophagy-specific kinase exist: ULK1(APG1) and ULK2. APG1 plays a critical role in regulating key elements of the autophagy pathway. APG1 stimulates autophagy, leading to autophagy-dependent restriction of cell growth and ultimately cell apoptosis at high levels of activity, and is a negative regulator of mTOR signaling.
