Supplier: Bioss
Description: ACO2, also referred to as aconitate hydratase, citrate hydrolyase or aconitase, is an iron-sulfur hydrolyase that catalyzes the non-limiting interconversion of citrate and isocitrate in the tricarboxylic acid cycle. It is expressed in the mitochondria and maintains a citrate:isocitrate ratio of approximately 10:1. ACO2 contains a redox-sensitive iron-sulfur cluster that exists in two states: active (Fe4S4) and inactive (Fe3S4). ACO2 activity is dependent on the state of this cluster as well as the presence of two conserved cysteine residues. In normal prostate epithelial cells ACO2 activity is prevented due to the high levels of zinc inhibiting the enzyme. In these citrate-producing epithelial cells citrate oxidation is impaired allowing citrate to accumulate and exhibit a citrate:isocitrate ratio of approximately 30:1. In malignant prostate cells zinc is unable to accumulate, therefore ACO2 activity resumes and citrate is oxidized.

Catalog Number: (10750-584)
Supplier: Prosci
Description: HAAO Antibody: HAAO (3-Hydroxyanthranilate 3, 4-dioxygenase) is a monomeric cytosolic protein of the family of intramolecular dioxygenases containing non-heme ferrous iron. It is widely distributed in peripheral organs, such as liver and kidney, and is present in low amounts in the central nervous system. This enzyme participates in tryptophan metabolism. It employs one cofactor, iron. HAAO catalyzes the synthesis of quinolinic acid (QUIN) from 3-hydroxyanthranilic acid. QUIN is an excitotoxin whose toxicity is mediated by its ability to activate glutamate N-methyl-D-aspartate receptors. Increased cerebral levels of QUIN may participate in the pathogenesis of neurological and inflammatory disorders. HAAO has been suggested to play a role in disorders associated with altered tissue levels of QUIN. Furthermore, recent study shows that HAAO are excellent candidate biomarkers for detecting ovarian cancer.

Catalog Number: (10094-234)
Supplier: Proteintech
Description: SDHB(Succinate dehydrogenase [ubiquinone] iron-sulfur subunit, mitochondrial) is also named as SDH, SDH1 and belongs to the succinate dehydrogenase/fumarate reductase iron-sulfur protein family. The SDHD, SDHB, and SDHC genes encode subunits of mitochondrial complex II (succinate dehydrogenase).Mitochondrial complex II is a heterotetrameric complex involved in the aerobic electron transport chain and catalyses the oxidation of succinate to fumarate (Krebs cycle) with transport of electrons to the ubiquinone pool. SDHA and SDHB are the hydrophilic catalytic part of the complex and are highly conserved(J Med Genet 2004;41:e99). Defects in SDHB are a cause of susceptibility to pheochromocytoma (PCC), paragangliomas type 4 (PGL4), paraganglioma and gastric stromal sarcoma (PGGSS) and Cowden-like syndrome (CWDLS).

Supplier: Proteintech
Description: LTF(Lactotransferrin) is also named as GIG12, LF and belongs to the transferrin family. It is an iron binding transport protein which can bind two atoms of ferric iron in association with the binding of an anion, usually bicarbonate. LTF is also an important protein component of the innate immune system that is broadly distributed within the body fluids. It can contribute to the activation of both the innate and adaptive immune responses by promoting the recruitment of leukocytes and activation of dendritic cells. This protein has 2 isoforms produced by alternative promoter usage. The human LTF can be isolated two fragments, an N-terminal tryptic fragment having an Mr of 30 kDa and a C-terminal tryptic fragment having an Mr of 50 kDa by a mild tryptic digest.
