Catalog Number: (CA200061-466)
Supplier: Enzo Life Sciences
Description: Anthrax Lethal Factor (LF) is a zinc-dependent protease that cleaves mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase (MAPKK) and causes lysis of macrophages. LF, together with Protective Antigen, forms Lethal Toxin, which is the dominant virulence factor produced by B. anthracis and is the major cause of death in infected animals. Lethal toxin has been reported to trigger apoptosis in human melanoma cells.

Catalog Number: (CAPIPA5-12976)
Supplier: Thermo Scientific
Description: This antibody is predicted to react with mouse and rat based on sequence homology. ANTXR1 is a type I transmembrane protein and is a tumor-specific endothelial marker that has been implicated in colorectal cancer. This protein has been shown to also be a docking protein or receptor for Bacillus anthracis toxin, the causative agent of the disease, anthrax. The binding of the protective antigen (PA) component, of the tripartite anthrax toxin, to this receptor protein mediates delivery of toxin components to the cytosol of cells. Once inside the cell, the other two components of anthrax toxin, edema factor (EF) and lethal factor (LF) disrupt normal cellular processes.

Catalog Number: (89359-774)
Supplier: Genetex
Description: Cholera toxin (CT) acts by transfer of ADP-ribose from intracellular NAD to the alpha chain of a trimeric G protein that functions to stimulate adenylate cyclase resulting in the increase of host cell cAMP. CT binds via the beta subunits to the GM1 ganglioside. Gangliosides are glycolipids that also contain oligosaccharides with one or more sialic acid residues.

Catalog Number: (10748-404)
Supplier: Prosci
Description: Anthrax Lethal Factor Antibody: Anthrax infection is initiated by the inhalation, ingestion, or cutaneous contact with Bacillus anthracis endospores. B. anthracis produces three polypeptides that comprise the anthrax toxin: protective antigen (PA), lethal factor (LF), and edema factor (EF). PA binds to two related proteins on the cell surface; these are termed tumor epithelial marker 8 (TEM8)/anthrax toxin receptor (ATR) and capillary morphogenesis protein 2 (CMG2), although it is still unclear which is physiologically relevant. Following PA binding to its receptor, PA is cleaved into two fragments by a furin-like protease. The bound fragment binds both LF and EF; the resulting complex is then endocytosed which allows the translocation of LF and EF into the cytoplasm. LF is the primary toxin of anthrax and functions as a highly specific protease that cleaves members of the mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase (MAPKK) family near their amino terminus, interfering with MAPK signaling and inducing apoptosis.
