Supplier: Bioss
Description: Ligand-activated transcription factor. Key regulator of lipid metabolism. Activated by the endogenous ligand 1-palmitoyl-2-oleoyl-sn-glycerol-3-phosphocholine (16:0/18:1-GPC). Activated by oleylethanolamide, a naturally occurring lipid that regulates satiety. Receptor for peroxisome proliferators such as hypolipidemic drugs and fatty acids. Regulates the peroxisomal beta-oxidation pathway of fatty acids. Functions as transcription activator for the ACOX1 and P450 genes. Transactivation activity requires heterodimerization with RXRA and is antagonized by NR2C2. May be required for the propagation of clock information to metabolic pathways regulated by PER2.

Supplier: Bioss
Description: Catalyzes the terminal and only committed step in triacylglycerol synthesis by using diacylglycerol and fatty acyl CoA as substrates. In contrast to DGAT2 it is not essential for survival. May be involved in VLDL (very low density lipoprotein) assembly. In liver, plays a role in esterifying exogenous fatty acids to glycerol. Functions as the major acyl-CoA retinol acyltransferase (ARAT) in the skin, where it acts to maintain retinoid homeostasis and prevent retinoid toxicity leading to skin and hair disorders.

Description: Catalyzes the hydrolysis of fructose 1,6-bisphosphate to fructose 6-phosphate in the presence of divalent cations, acting as a rate-limiting enzyme in gluconeogenesis. Plays a role in regulating glucose sensing and insulin secretion of pancreatic beta-cells. Appears to modulate glycerol gluconeogenesis in liver. Important regulator of appetite and adiposity; increased expression of the protein in liver after nutrient excess increases circulating satiety hormones and reduces appetite-stimulating neuropeptides and thus seems to provide a feedback mechanism to limit weight gain.

Supplier: Bioss
Description: GDE3, also known as glycerophosphodiester phosphodiesterase 3, glycerophosphodiester phosphodiesterase domain containing 2 (GDPD2) or osteoblast differentiation promoting factor (OBDPF), is a 539 amino acid protein belonging to the glycerophosphoryl diester phosphodiesterase family. Possessing glycerophosphoinositol inositolphosphodiesterase activity, GDE3 hydrolyzes glycerophosphoinositol to form inositol 1-phosphate and glycerol, and is suggested to play a role in Actin cytoskeleton remodeling and osteoblast differentiation and growth. A multi-pass membrane protein, GDE3 localizes to cell membrane and cytoplasm, and colocalizes with actin in the cytoskeleton. GDE3 contains one GDPD domain, binds calcium as a cofactor and is encoded by a gene mapping to human chromosome Xq13.1.

Description: GPAT1 Antibody: Glycerol-3-phosphate acyltransferase 1 (GPAT1), one of four known GPAT isoforms, is located on the mitochondrial outer membrane, allowing reciprocal regulation with carnitine palmitoyltransferase-1. It is thought to be critical for the development of hepatic steatosis; steatosis triggered by GPAT1 overexpression leads to hepatic and possibly peripheral insulin resistance. GPAT1 is transcriptionally upregulated by insulin and sterol regulatory element binding protein (SREBP-1) and downregulated by AMP-activated protein kinase. Mice deficient in GPAT1 exhibit decreased triacylglycerol (TAG) in cardiomyocytes even in high-fat diets, suggesting that GPAT1 contributes significantly to TAG accumulation in heart tissue during lipogenic or high fat diets.
