Description: A variety of morphological and molecular changes are required for spermatozoa formation. These steps are temporally guided by the transcription and translation of several testis-specific genes. SPERT (spermatid associated), also known as CBY2 (chibby homolog 2), spermatid flower-like structure protein or NURIT, is a 448 amino acid novel leucine-zipper protein belonging to the chibby family of proteins.Expressed uniquely in the spermatid flower-like structure, SPERT interacts with Nek1, a member of the NIMA-family kinase family that is associated centrosomal stability and ciliogenesis. Containing a leucine-zipper motif and two coiled-coil regions, SPERT is transcribed through the elongation stage of the spermatids. SPERT is absent from mature spermatozoa and is thought to be involved in transporting proteins that are to be discarded via the residual bodies.

Description: LRRTM1 Antibody: The Leucine-rich repeat transmembrane neuronal proteins (LRRTMs) are differentially expressed in the nervous system and were recently found to instruct presynaptic and mediate postsynaptic glutamatergic differentiation, with LRRTM1 and LRRTM2 most potent at inducing presynaptic differentiation. Each LRRTM protein is a type I transmembrane containing ten extracellular leucine-rich repeats and a short intracellular tail and has a developmentally regulated pattern distinct from all others. LRRTM1 is a maternally suppressed gene that is associated paternally with handedness and schizophrenia.

Description: Chondroadherin (CHAD), also known as cartilage leucine-rich protein, is a prominent noncollagenous extracellular protein in cartilage. It was first isolated from bovine cartilage. The primary structure of CHAD shows that it belongs to the family of leucine-rich repeat (LRR) proteins. It is expressed at high levels in certain zones of cartilage and also has been detected in bone, tendon, bone marrow, and chondrosarcoma cells. CHAD promotes attachment of chondrocytes, fibroblasts, and osteoblasts, mediated via the integrin alpha2beta1. It has also been shown to bind to collagen type II and both collagen type II and chondroadherin interact with integrin alpha2beta1. Besides, CHAD may play an important role in the regulation of chondrocyte growth and proliferation.

Description: Lumican is a 40 kD secreted protein which belongs to the small leucine-rich repeat proteoglycans (SLRPs) and the class II subfamily. Human Lumican is synthesized as a 338 amino acid precursor then cut the 18 aa signal sequence. The mature Human Lumican contains 12 leucine-rich repeats (LRRs), 4 potential sites of N-linked glycosylation, and a C- terminal with two conserved cyst-eines. Lumican can be existed in extracellular matrix of human articular cartilage. Lumican participates in the maintenance of tissue homeostasis and regulates cellular functions in vivo, such as cell proliferation, adhesion, migration, and differentiation. The overexpression of lumican has been correlated to colorectal tumor, breast, neuroendocrine, and pancreatic cancers.

Description: The AATF is a protein that was identified on the basis of its interaction with MAP3K12/DLK, a protein kinase known to be involved in the induction of cell apoptosis. AATF contains a leucine zipper, which is a characteristic motif of transcription factors, and was shown to exhibit strong transactivation activity when fused to Gal4 DNA binding domain. Overexpression of AATF interfered with MAP3K12 induced apoptosis. The protein encoded by this gene was identified on the basis of its interaction with MAP3K12/DLK, a protein kinase known to be involved in the induction of cell apoptosis. Description: LGI1 Antibody: The leucine-rich, glioma inactivated gene 1 (LGI1) was first identified as a candidate tumor suppressor gene for glioma and may play a role in other cancers. LGI1 is a member of a family of highly related proteins containing leucine-rich repeats (LRRs) which are highly similar to other transmembrane signaling molecules and receptors. LGI1 serves as a ligand to ADAM22, a metalloprotease localized at the synapse. Mutations in LGI1 account for nearly half of autodominant lateral temporal epilepsy (ADTLE), an epileptic syndrome characterized by focal seizures with predominant auditory symptoms. Two isoforms of LGI1 are known to exist, but the top band seen in the western blot is likely to be non-specific. This LGI1 antibody is predicted to be specific to LGI1 and not recognize other LGI proteins.
