Catalog Number: (77436-782)
Supplier: Bioss
Description: Catalyzes the transfer of a methyl group from AdoMet to trivalent arsenicals producing methylated and dimethylated arsenicals. It methylates arsenite to form methylarsonate, Me-AsO(3)H(2), which is reduced by methylarsonate reductase to methylarsonite, Me-As(OH)2. Methylarsonite is also a substrate and it is converted into the much less toxic compound dimethylarsinate (cacodylate), Me(2)As(O)-OH (By similarity).

Supplier: Ace Glass
Description: Designed for arsenic analysis by the diethyldithiocarbramate colorimetric method, this Arsine Generator meets APHA Standard 104A, ACS/USP, and EPA specifications

Supplier: Bioss
Description: ASNA1 is the human homolog of the E.coli arsA gene which is an ATPase, and is the catalytic component of a multisubunit oxyanion pump responsible for resistance to arsenicals and antimonials.

Catalog Number: (10473-754)
Supplier: Bioss
Description: ARS2(Arsenite resistance protein 2) confers arsenite resistance. The protein belongs to the ARS2 family. Arsenic is a human carcinogen whose mechanism of action is unknown. The arsenite acts as a comutagen by interfering with DNA repair. Two genes, ASR1(Arsenite resistance protein 1) and ASR2 (Arsenite resistance protein 2), confer arsenite resistance to arsenite-sensitive cells. ASR1 shows almost complete homology with the rat fau gene, a tumor suppressor gene which contains a ubiquitin like region fused to S30 ribosomal protein. Arsenite inhibits ubiquitin dependent proteolysis. The tumor suppressor fau gene product or some other aspect of the ubiquitin system may be a target for arsenic toxicity and that disruption of the ubiquitin system may contribute to the genotoxicity and carcinogenicity of arsenite.
