Description: Endoproteinase LysC is a serine endoproteinase, isolated from Lysobacter enzymogenes, that cleaves peptide bonds at the carboxyl side of lysine. LysC is a sequencing grade enzyme and is suitable for proteomics and glycobiology applications.

Catalog Number: (10472-868)
Supplier: Bioss
Description: SRPK2 belongs to the protein kinase superfamily. It phosphorylates RS domain-containing proteins, such as SFRS1 and SFRS2 on serine residues. It has a role in spliceosome assembly and in mediating the trafficking of splicing factors and appears to mediate HBV core protein phosphorylation which is a prerequisite for pregenomic RNA encapsidation into viral capsids. SRPK2 highly expressed in brain, moderately expressed in heart and skeletal muscle and at low levels in lung, liver, and kidney.

Supplier: Bioss
Description: PLK1 (polo-like kinase 1) is a member of the serine/threonine protein kinase family, cdc5/polo subfamily. PLK1 contains two polo box domains with a predicted molecular weight of 68 kDa. PLK1 has been shown to regulate cdc2/cyclin B through phosphorylation and activation of cdc25c phosphatase. PLK1 is modified by phosphorylation at Threonine 210. PLK1 may also be required for cell division. Depletion of PLK1 results in apoptosis and deregulation of expression of PKL1 is correlated with development of many malignancies.

Supplier: Prosci
Description: SPT2 Antibody: Serine palmitoyltransferase (SPT), which consists of two different subunits, is the key enzyme in sphingolipid biosynthesis. It converts L-serine and palmitoyl-CoA to 3-oxosphinganine with pyridoxal 5'-phosphate as a cofactor. SPT2 is the long chain base subunit 2 of mammalian serine palmitoyltransferase. SPT2 is catalytically active but needs its related protein SPT1 for its stabilization and anchoring the holoenzyme to the cytosolic face of the endoplasmic reticulum. As in the case with SPT1, mutations in the SPT2 gene can cause hereditary sensory and autonomic neuropathy type I (HSAN-I), resulting from a loss of SPT activity as well as the accumulation of the atypical and neurotoxic sphingoid metabolite 1-deoxy-sphinganine.

Description: L-Cycloserine regulates sphingolipide metabolism by inhibiting the key enzyme serine palmitoyltransferase. Both cycloserine enantiomers inhibit 3-ketodihydrosphingosine synthetase (EC 2.3.1.50), though the L-form is the more potent inhibitor of the enzyme. Pérez-Sala et al. studied its inhibitory activity on pyruvate metabolism.

Description: Serine Hydroxymethyltransferase Cytosolic (SHMT1) is a member of the SHMT family. SHMT1 is a cytoplasmic protein and exists as a homotetramer. SHMT1 catalyzes the reversible conversion of serine and tetrahydrofolate to glycine and 5,10-methylene tetrahydrofolate. This reaction provides one carbon unit for the synthesis of methionine, thymidylate, and purines in the cytoplasm. A reduction in SHMT1 levels would result in less glycine that could affect the nervous system by acting as an agonist to the NMDA receptor and this could be a mechanism behind Smith-Magenis syndrome.
