Description: This gene encodes a subunit of interleukin 12, a cytokine that acts on T and natural killer cells, and has a broad array of biological activities. Interleukin 12 is a disulfide-linked heterodimer composed of the 40 kD cytokine receptor like subunit encoded by this gene, and a 35 kD subunit encoded by IL12A. This cytokine is expressed by activated macrophages that serve as an essential inducer of Th1 cells development. This cytokine has been found to be important for sustaining a sufficient number of memory/effector Th1 cells to mediate long-term protection to an intracellular pathogen. Overexpression of this gene was observed in the central nervous system of patients with multiple sclerosis , suggesting a role of this cytokine in the pathogenesis of the disease. The promoter polymorphism of this gene has been reported to be associated with the severity of atopic and non-atopic asthma in children.

Description: CTSB(Cathepsin B) is also named as CPSB and belongs to the peptidase C1 family. It participates in intracellular degradation and turnover of proteins. Cathepsin B precursors found in human malignant ascites fluid do not possess mannose-rich carbohydrates suggesting that a defect in the post translational processing of carbohydrate moieties on tumor cathepsin B may be responsible for the release of cathepsin B observed in many tumor systems. Cathepsin B exists as both glycosylated and unglycosylated forms. In rat macrophages and hepatocytes pro- cathepsin B is 39 kDa (unglycosylated =35 kDa), whereas in human fibroblasts procathepsin B is 44.5-46kDa (unglycosylated=39kDa). It can be detected the 43 kDa form of pro-CTSB, 31 kDa and 25 kDa marure forms in mouse brain by western blot.

Description: LFG Antibody: Programmed cell death regulates a number of biological processes such as normal organism development, tissue homeostasis, and removal of damaged cells. Disruption of this process has been implicated in a variety of diseases such as cancer. LFG is a recently identified protein that can inhibit the apoptotic signal transduced by the Fas receptor but not from the related tumor necrosis factor-alpha death signal. In this respect, LFG is functionally similar to the anti-apoptotic proteins FAIM, FLIP and Bcl-xL. LFG, a seven membrane spanning protein, can bind the Fas receptor but does not regulate Fas expression or inhibit binding of FADD to Fas. LFG is widely distributed, but highly expressed in the hippocampus and other neural tissues. LFG was also identified as the neural membrane protein 35 (NMP35) and its expression is known to be regulated by the Phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase-Akt/PKB pathway.

Description: Slc35D1 Antibody: The solute carrier family Slc35 consists of at least 17 proteins that act as nucleotide sugar transporters localized to the Golgi apparatus and endoplasmic reticulum. The role of the ER-resident Slc family member Slc35D1 is to transport both UDP-glucuronic acid and UDP-N-acetylgalactosamine. These molecules can serve as substrates for chondroitin sulfate biosynthesis and mice lacking the Slc35D1 gene developed a lethal form of skeletal dysplasia with severe shortening of limbs and facial structures. Examination of epiphyseal cartilage in these mice revealed a decreased proliferating zone with round chrondrocytes, scarce matrices, and reduced proteoglycan aggregates. Loss of function mutations in human Slc35D1 cause Schneckenbecken dysplasia, a severe skeletal dysplasia.

Description: The TATA binding protein (TBP) is a transcription factor that binds specifically to a DNA sequence TATA box. This DNA sequence is found about 25-30 base pairs upstream of the transcription start site in some eukaryotic gene promoters. TBP, along with a variety of TBP-associated factors, make up the TFIID, a general transcription factor that in turn makes up part of the RNA polymerase II preinitiation complex. As one of the few proteins in the preinitation complex that binds DNA in a sequence-specific manner, it helps position RNA polymerase II over the transcription start site of the gene. However, it is estimated that only 10-20% of human promoters have TATA boxes. Therefore, TBP is probably not the only protein involved in positioning RNA polymerase II. This antibody detects human TBP (~40 kDa) and mouse/rat Tbp (~35 kDa).

Description: Interleukin 35 (IL-35) is a member of the IL-12 cytokine family and is produced by regulatory T cells (Tregs). IL-35 is a heterodimeric cytokine that is comprised of the p35 subunit (IL-12A) and the Epstein-Barr virus induced gene 3 subunit (EBI3/IL-27B). IL-35 binds the IL-12Rbeta2/gp130 hetero- and homodimers to activate STAT1 and STAT4 signaling. IL-35 functions as a suppressor of immune cell inflammatory responses.

Description: Lectins, of either plant or animal origin, are carbohydrate binding proteins that interact with glycoprotein and glycolipids on the surface of animal cells. The Galectins are lectins that recognize and interact with beta-galactoside moieties. Galectin-3 regulates a number of biological processes, including embryogenesis, inflammatory responses, cell progression and metastasis. Galectin-3 is normally expressed in epithelia of a variety of tissues, including colon and endometrium, and in various inflammatory cells, including macrophages. Galectin-3 can function intracellularly, in controlling cell cycle and preventing T-cell apoptosis, and also extracellularly, in activating various cells, including monocytes/macrophages, mast cells, neutrophils, and lymphocytes. Expression of Galectin-3 is affected by neoplastic transformation, being up-regulated in certain types of lymphomas, and in thyroid and hepatic carcinomas. Conversely, it is down-regulated in other cancers, such as colon, breast, ovarian, and uterine. Recombinant human Galectin-3 is a globular 26.0kDa protein containing 250 amino acid residues, but no disulfide bonds.

Description: KLF6(krupple-like factor 6) is a zinc finger transcription factor and tumor suppressor with biological activities and transcriptional targets in growing range. It is highly expressed in placenta followed by spleen, thymus, prostate, testis, small intestine and colon. One key target gene of KLF6 in endoglin, which is a homodimeric cell membrane glycoprotein and TGF-β auxiliary receptor, owns a pro-angiogenic role in endothelial cells and is also involved in malignant progression. Also KLF6 induces apoptosis in prostate cancer cells through upregulation of ATF3. KLF6 was normal detected as a 46kDa protein, which is larger than translation product(32kDa), because of post-translational modification including both phosphorylation and glycosylation. This antibody raise against the full length of KLF6 gene of human origin, and can recognize both of KLF6, included KLF6(~32kDa), p-KLF6(~35-46kDa). Otherwise, there may be a non-specific band(50kDa) showed in detection
