Description: CXCL16 is a recently discovered cytokine belonging to the CXC chemokine family, which is synthesised in plasmacytoid dendritic cell as a transmembrane molecule. It exists in a transmembrane and soluble form. The transmembrane form of CXCL16 functions as an adhesion molecule for CXCR6-expressing cells, whereas the soluble form of CXCL16 mediates infiltration of circulating cells into sites of injury. CXCL16, has been proposed as an important pathogenic mediator in inflammatory diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis, glomerulonephritis, or prostate cancer. CXCL16 has been implicated in some forms of renal disease such as lupus nephritis and antiglomerular basement membrane nephritis. CXCL16 also plays a pivotal role in the pathogenesis of angiotensin II–induced renal injury and fibrosis through regulation of macrophage and T cell infiltration and bone marrow–derived fibroblast accumulation.

Description: Beta actin, also named as ACTB and F-Actin, belongs to the actin family. Actins are highly conserved globular proteins that are involved in various types of cell motility and are ubiquitously expressed in all eukaryotic cells. At least six isoforms of actins are known in mammals and other vertebrates: alpha (ACTC1, cardiac muscle 1), alpha 1 (ACTA1, skeletal muscle) and 2 (ACTA2, aortic smooth muscle), beta (ACTB), gamma 1 (ACTG1) and 2 (ACTG2, enteric smooth muscle). Beta and gamma 1 are two non-muscle actin proteins. Most actins consist of 376aa, while ACTG2 (rich in muscles) has 375aa and ACTG1(found in non-muscle cells) has only 374aa. Beta actin has been widely used as the internal control in RT-PCR and Western Blotting as a 42-kDa protein. This antibody can recognize all the actins.

Description: The synaptosomal associated protein of 25 kD (SNAP-25) was first identified as a major synaptic protein by Wilson and colleagues. The protein interacts with syntaxin and synaptobrevin through its N-terminal and C-terminal -helical domains. Its palmitoylation domain is located in the middle of the molecule that contains four cysteine residues. Mutation of the cysteines abolishes palmitoylation and membrane binding. Several elegant studies using synaptosome preparations and permeabilized PC12 cells have suggested that SNAP-25 may act in the late post-docking steps of exocytosis. By limited proteolysis and in vitro binding assay, it is proposed that the two helix domains act independently and contribute equally to form the SNARE complex with syntaxin and synaptobrevin. It seems that a major regulatory element is located in the C-terminus of SNAP-25. Removing a 9 amino acid sequence of SNAP-25 inhibited neurosecretion in chromaffin cells. In addition, it has been shown that inhibition of neurosecretion by botulinum toxin E can be rescued by a SNAP-25 C-terminal peptide, probably by initiating the formation of a fusion competent SNARE complex.

The epitope of 60019-2-Ig has been determined to locate at residues 203-209 by Hiroshi Tsuji et al. (2012), which is involved in the formation of pathologic TDP-43 aggregation. Notably this antibody only recognizes human TDP-43 but not reacts with mouse or rat TDP-43.
