Description: MARVELD1, (MARVEL domain-containing 1), is one of the MARVEL (MAL and related proteins for vesicle trafficking and membrane link) domain-containing proteins. It is a nuclear-localized protein that is widely expressed in normal human tissues. While it has been reported to be overexpressed in colon cancer, MARVELD1 protein levels are generally lower in several primary tumors including ovary, breast, kidney, bladder and liver. This lower level of MARVELD1 expression in tumors is thought to be due to a higher methylation status of the MARVELD1 promoter as treatment of MDA-MB-361 with 5-aza-2'-deoxycytidine restores MARVELD1 expression, suggesting that loss of MARVELD1 expression may contribute to tumorgenicity.

Description: Anti-Abi1 Antibody was designed, produced, and validated as part of the Joy Cappel Young Investigator Award (JCYIA). Abi1 gene has been suggested to have a role in inhibiting cell growth and encodes an adaptor protein in the Abelson-interactor family. The protein is involved in signal transduction, actin regulation and cytoskeletal remodeling. Studies suggest that Abi1 is a member of the WAVE complex and a dysfunctional complex may allow for the progression of prostate cancer. Anti-Abi1 is ideal for researchers interested in melanoma, colon and breast cancer and other cancer antibody research.

Description: This gene is a member of the N-myc downregulated gene family which belongs to the alpha/beta hydrolase superfamily. The protein encoded by this gene is a cytoplasmic protein involved in stress responses, hormone responses, cell growth, and differentiation. Mutation in this gene has been reported to be causative for hereditary motor and sensory neuropathy-Lom. May have a growth inhibitory role. Ubiquitous; expressed most prominently in placental membranes and prostate, kidney, small intestine, and ovary tissues. Reduced expression in adenocarcinomas compared to normal tissues. In colon, prostate and placental membranes, the cells that border the lumen show the highest expression.

Description: Rb is a tumor suppressor gene which functions as a negative regulator of the cell cycle by interacting with transcription factors including E2F1, PU1, ATF2, UBF, Elf1 and cAbl. This ability of Rb to alter transcription is regulated by phosphorylation catalyzed by the cyclin dependent protein kinases (cdks). Rb is phosphorylated on serine and threonine, but not on tyrosine residues. It forms a complex with SV40 large T antigen, adenovirus E1A, and human papilloma virus 16E. Rb protein may act by regulating transcription and loss of its function leads to uncontrolled cell growth. Aberrations in the Rb gene have been implicated in cancers of breast, colon, prostate, kidney, nasopharynx, and leukemia.

Description: RELM beta, is a secreted protein, a probable hormone, expressed only in the gastrointestinal tract, particularly the colon. The biological functions of RELM beta and its molecular targets, are not fully known but, it has been suggested that it plays a regulatory role during inflammation and may also act to establish links among adipose tissue, the intestine and the liver. Interestingly the molecular structure of RELM beta is highly homologous to that of the adipose-derived cytokine Resistin and RELM alpha.

Description: IGF-BPs controls the distribution, function and activity of IGFs in various cell tissues and body fluids. IGF-BP6 is produced by bone cells and is the major IGF-BP present in cerebrospinal fluid, and specifically inhibits IGF-II actions. IGF-BP6 has been shown to inhibit IGF-II-dependent cancers such as neuroblastoma, colon cancer and rhabdomyosarcoma. Recombinant human IGF-BP6 has a calculated mass of 22.6 kDa and consists of 213 amino acid residues including the IGF-BP domain and thyroglobulin type-I domain. IGF-BP6 migrates at an apparent molecular weight of approximately 23.0-30.0 kDa by SDS-PAGE analysis under non-reducing conditions.

Description: Epiregulin is an EGF related growth factor that binds specifically to EGFR (ErbB1) and ErbB4, but not ErbB2 or ErbB3. It is expressed mainly in the placenta and peripheral blood leukocytes and in certain carcinomas of the bladder, lung, kidney and colon. Epiregulin stimulates the proliferation of keratinocytes, hepatocytes, fibroblasts and vascular smooth muscle cells. It also inhibits the growth of several tumor-derived epithelial cell lines. Human Epiregulin is initially synthesized as a glycosylated 19.0 kDa transmembrane precursor protein, which is processed by proteolytic cleavage to produce a 6.0 kDa mature secreted sequence. Recombinant human Epiregulin is a 5.6 kDa monomeric protein, containing 50 amino residues, which corresponds to the mature secreted Epiregulin sequence.

Description: Interleukin 1 receptor-like 1(IL1RL1) is a member of the interleukin-1 receptor family, Contains 3 Ig-like C2-type domains and 1 TIR domain. It is highly expressed in kidney, lung, placenta, stomach, skeletal muscle, colon and small intestine. IL1RL1 is a receptor for interleukin-33, its stimulation recruits MYD88, IRAK1, IRAK4, and TRAF6, followed by phosphorylation of MAPK3/ERK1 and/or MAPK1/ERK2, MAPK14, and MAPK8. IL1RL1 may possibly be involved in helper T-cell function. Soluble IL1RL1 also acts as a negative regulator of Th2 cytokine production, it directly implicated in the progression of cardiac disease.

Description: Cyclin D1 belongs to the Cyclin D family. Cyclin D1 is required for the cell cycle G1/S transition. Amplification or overexpression of Cyclin D1 plays a pivotal role in the development of various human cancers including breast cancer, colon cancer, melanoma, prostate cancer and lymphoma. It is useful to differentiate mantle cell lymphoma from small cleaved cell lymphoma. Rabbit monoclonal antibodies to Cyclin D1 showed the highest sensitivity to detect this antigen in formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue as compared to several other clones.

Description: CRISP3, also known as SGP28, is a glycoprotein that belongs to a family of cysteine-rich secretory proteins (CRISPs). CRISP3 was originally discovered in human neutrophils, but transcripts are widely distributed in exocrine glands (salivary glands, pancreas, and prostate) and also found at lower levels in epididymis, ovary, thymus, and colon. CRISP3 is a potential biomarker for prostate cancer. This antibody can recgnize both CRISP2 and CRISP3.
