Supplier: Thermo Scientific Chemicals
Description: 1-Methyl-2-phenylindole 99%
Catalog Number: (89139-054)
Supplier: Biotium
Description: DAPI (4′,6-Diamidino-2-Phenylindole, dihydrochloride) is a popular blue DNA dye that is used as a nuclear counterstain in fluorescence microscopy, chromosome staining and flow cytometry. The dye binds to the minor groove of dsDNA with approximately 20-fold fluorescence enhancement, with higher affinity for A-T rich regions. Also see DAPI dilactate (catalog no. 40009), a more water soluble form of the dye.

SDS

Catalog Number: (CAPI62248)
Supplier: Thermo Scientific
Description: Thermo Scientific Pierce DAPI Nuclear Counterstains are high-purity forms of diamidino-2-phenylindole dye for fixed-cell, fluorescent staining of DNA content and nuclei for cellular imaging techniques.

Catalog Number: (CA422801-BL)
Supplier: Biolegend
Description: DAPI (4',6-Diamidino-2-Phenylindole, Dilactate), a blue fluorescent nucleic acid stain, preferentially binds dsDNA and associates with the minor groove AT clusters. The molecular weight for DAPI is 457.5. Association of DAPI with dsDNA increases fluorescence approximately 20-fold, with an emission maximum of 460 nm. The increase in fluorescence is believed to be due to displacement of water molecules from the minor groove and DAPI. DAPI can also bind RNA and emits at a longer wavelength of 500 nm, with only a 20% increase in fluorescence.

Supplier: TCI America
Description: CAS Number: 948-65-2

SDS

Catalog Number: (89139-050)
Supplier: Biotium
Description: DAPI dilactate is essentially the same as DAPI dihydrochloride (catalog no. 40011), but with a different counterion. The dilactate salt form of the dye is more water soluble than the dihydrochloride salt, and therefore DAPI dilactate is a better choice for preparing stock solutions in water.
