Description: ELAC2 is a zinc phosphodiesterase which displays some tRNA 3' processing endonuclease activity. It is thought to be involved in tRNA maturation, acting by removing a 3' trailer from precursor tRNA. ELAC2 also interacts with activated Smad family member 2 (Smad2) and its nuclear partner forkhead box H1 (also known as FAST-1), and reduced expression can suppress transforming growth factor-beta induced growth arrest. Mutations in this gene result in an increased risk of prostate cancer. A number of allelic variants have been investigated in hereditary prostate cancer.

Description: Peroxisomes are essential organelles that participate in multiple important metabolic processes, including the beta -oxidation of fatty acids, plasmalogen synthesis, and the metabolism of reactive oxygen species (ROS). Peroxiredoxins is overexpressed in breast cancer tissues to a great extent suggesting that they has a proliferative effect and may be related to cancer development or progression. Peroxiredoxin 5 (PRDX5) is a thioredoxin peroxidase that belongs to the atypical 2-Cys class of the TSA/ahpC family of peroxiredoxins. PRDX5 is a widely expressed mitochondrial antioxidant enzyme that reduces hydrogen peroxide, alkyl hydroperoxides, and peroxynitrite. In human cells, this enzyme is present in the cytosol, mitochondria, peroxisomes, and nucleus.

Description: Pertuzumab (also called 2C4, trade name Perjeta) is a monoclonal antibody used in combination with trastuzumab and docetaxel for the treatment of metastatic HER2-positive breast cancer; it also used in the same combination as a neoadjuvant in early HER2-positive breast cancer. The epitope for pertuzumab is the domain of HER2 where it binds to HER3, and pertuzumab prevents the HER2/HER3 dimer from forming, which blocks signalling by the dimer to prevent HER2 from functioning. Anti-Pertuzumab antibody (11H4), mAb, Mouse is produced from a hybridoma resulting from the fusion of partner and B-lymphocytes obtained from a mouse immunized with Pertuzumab.

Description: Survivin, also called BIRC5, is a unique member of the inhibitor of apoptosis (IAP) protein family. Survivin is a 16 kDa anti-apoptotic protein highly expressed during fetal development and cancer cell malignancy, but is completely absent in terminally differentiated cells. The differential expression of survivin in cancer versus normal tissues makes it a useful tool in cancer diagnosis and a promising therapeutic target. Survivin expression is also highly regulated by the cell cycle and is only expressed in the G2-M phase. It is known that survivin localizes to the mitotic spindle by interaction with tubulin during mitosis and may play a contributing role in regulating mitosis. Disruption of survivin-microtubule interactions results in loss of survivin's anti-apoptosis function and increased caspase-3 activity, a mechanism involved in cell death, during mitosis. It also is a direct target gene of the Wnt pathway and is upregulated by beta-catenin.

Description: This gene encodes a tumor suppressor protein containing transcriptional activation, DNA binding, and oligomerization domains. The encoded protein responds to diverse cellular stresses to regulate expression of target genes, thereby inducing cell cycle arrest, apoptosis, senescence, DNA repair, or changes in metabolism. Mutations in this gene are associated with a variety of human cancers, including hereditary cancers such as Li-Fraumeni syndrome. Alternative splicing of this gene and the use of alternate promoters result in multiple transcript variants and isoforms. Additional isoforms have also been shown to result from the use of alternate translation initiation codons (PMIDs: 12032546, 20937277). [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2013].

Description: Anti-Cyclin D3 antibody was designed, produced, and validated as part of the Joy Cappel Young Investigator Award (JCYIA). Cyclin D3 belongs to a highly conserved cyclin family, whose members are the ultimate recipients of oncogenic signals. Cyclin D3 is a key component of the cell cycle progression machinery and induces progression through the G1 phase of the cell cycle. Cyclin D3 is expressed in nearly all proliferating cells, and shows the most broad expression pattern of all three D-type (D1-D3) cyclins. Cyclin D3 is encoded from the 6p21 chromosome region and the protein is predominantly localized in the nucleus. Once induced, cyclin D3 binds and activates its associated cyclin-dependent kinases CDK4 and CDK6. Amplification of the cyclin D3 gene and overexpression of cyclin D3 protein is seen in several human cancers. A large number of human malignancies contain lesions in pathways impacting on cyclin D3. Abnormal expression of Cyclin D3 is believed to be a driving force in several human cancers. A possible role for cyclin D3 in the malignancies of the lymphoid system is suggested by the observations that cyclin D3 gene is rearranged in several neoplastic diseases such as diffuse large B cell lymphomas or multiple myelomas. Anti-Cyclin D3 is ideal for researchers interested in Cancer Research and Immunology research.

Description: SCRN3 Antibody: SCRN3 is a member of the secernin family of proteins which includes the homologous SCRN1, a protein that was first identified as being involved in the regulation of exocytosis from peritoneal mast cells. Little is known of SCRN3, but studies have shown that SCRN1 may possess epitopes that function as tumor-associated antigens in gastric cancers and increased SCRN1 expression in patients with colorectal cancer correlated with poor prognosis, suggesting that SCRN3 may also be involved in protein secretion or the regulation of cell growth.

Description: Use hepassocin to bind to lymphocyte-activation gene 3 (LAG-3) in an MHC class II independent manner, and inhibit antigen-specific T-cell activation (Wang <i>et al.</i>). Hepassocin is known to play a restorative role in the liver, reducing apoptosis and accelerating hepatocyte proliferation <i>in vivo</i> (Li <i>et al.</i>). In addition to these hepatoprotective effects, studies have shown that hepassocin expression is upregulated in gastric cancer tissues (Zhang <i>et al.</i>) and in breast cancer cells (Du <i>et al.</i>), suggesting it has potential to predict cancer disease progression. Hepassocin is a member of the fibrinogen superfamily, whose members share a fibrinogen domain at their C-terminus. It is predominantly expressed in the liver, and weakly in the pancreas (Hara <i>et al.</i>), and is secreted as a homodimer that consists of 312 amino acids. Hepassocin is an acute-phase reactant whose expression in HepG2 cells has been shown to be regulated by IL-6 (Liu and Ukomadu). This protein product contains a His-residue tag at the carboxyl end of the polypeptide chain. For consistency and reproducibility across your applications, hepassocin from STEMCELL comes lyophilized with ≥ 87% purity, and endotoxin levels are verified to be ≤1.0 EU/μg protein.

Description: CYR61 is a member of the CCN family of secreted cysteine-rich regulatory proteins. CYR61 induces angiogenesis by stimulating the proliferation, migration, and adhesion of endothelial cells. Cell migration and adhesion are mediated through binding to specific cell surface integrins and to heparin sulfate proteoglycans. Increased expression of CYR61 is associated with several types of cancer, and correlates with the progression and estrogen independence of human breast cancers. Recombinant Human CYR61 is a 39.4 kDa protein containing 357 amino acid residues. It is composed of four distinct structural domains (modules); the IGF binding protein (IGFBP) domain, the von Willebrand Factor C (VWFC) domain, the Thrombospondin type-I (TSP type-1) domain, and a C-terminal cysteine knot-like domain (CTCK).
