Description: This antibody is specific to human cytokeratin 18 of 45 kDa. Cytokeratin 18 belongs to a family of acidic type A keratins and exists along with cytokeratin 8 in most simple ductal and glandular epithelia. This antibody does not react with squamous epithelium. It reacts with benign and malignant epithelial lesions as well as a majority of adenocarcinomas and basal cell carcinomas.

Description: Anti-Cytokeratin (CAM 5.2) reagent has a primary reactivity with human keratin proteins that correspond to Moll’s peptides #7 and #8, Mr 48 and 52 kilodaltons (kd), respectively. Cytokeratin 7 and 8 are present on secretory epithelia of normal human tissue but not onstratified squamous epithelium. Anti-Cytokeratin (CAM 5.2) stains most epithelial-derived tissue, including liver, renal tubular epithelium, and hepatocellular and renal cell carcinomas. Anti-Cytokeratin (CAM 5.2) might not react with some squamous cell carcinomas.

Description: Phosphohistone H3 (PHH3) is a core histone protein, which together with other histones, forms the major protein constituents of the chromatin in eukaryotic cells. In mammalian cells, phosphohistone H3 is negligible during interphase but reaches a maximum for chromatin condensation during mitosis.Immunohistochemical studies showed anti-PHH3 specifically detected the core protein histone H3 only when phosphorylated at serine 10 or serine 28. Description: p40 is a relatively unknown antibody that recognizes ΔNp63-a p63 isoform suggested to be highly specific for squamous/basal cells. In a recent study, p40 is equivalent to p63 in sensitivity for squamous cell carcinoma, but it is markedly superior to p63 in specificity1, which eliminates a potential pitfall of misinterpreting a p63-positive adenocarcinoma or unsuspected lymphoma as squamous cell carcinoma. These findings strongly support the routine use of p40 in place of p63 for the diagnosis of pulmonary squamous cell carcinoma.

Description: This antibody recognizes CD23. CD23 is a 45 kDa glycoprotein, which is present on a subpopulation of freshly isolated peripheral blood and tonsil B cells and strongly expressed on EBV-transformed B lymphoblasts. Description: Camelids produce functional IgG isotypes that do not incorporate light chains. Comparative studies of old world camelids (Camelus bactrianus and Camelus dromedarius) and new world camelids (Lama pacos, Lama glama and Lama vicugna) have shown that heavy-chain-only immunoglobulins represent between 35% - 70% of total IgG in the sera of all species. At present, three subclasses of camelid IgG have been identified (IgG1, IgG2, IgG3), of which IgG2 and IgG3 lack the light chains. IgG1 binds strongly to protein A and G, is composed of conventional antibodies, and totals 25 % of serum IgG. Llama IgG1 antibodies migrate as a 150-kDa protein in SDS-polyacrylamide gel under non-reducing conditions. Under reducing conditions, IgG1 antibodies split into four proteins (two of each H- and L-chains), which gives protein bands of about 52-55 kDa (H-chain) and about 27 kDa (L-chain). Description: This antibody recognizes a protein of 25-26kDa, identified as bcl-2 alpha oncoprotein. It shows no cross-reaction with BCL-X or BAX protein. Expression of BCL-2 alpha oncoprotein inhibits the programmed cell death (apoptosis). In most follicular lymphomas, neoplastic germinal centers express high levels of BCL-2 alpha protein, whereas the normal or hyperplastic germinal centers are negative.
