Fume Hoods and Enclosures Extraction Cabinets
Designed for the needs of histologists and pathologists, these workstations rid the lab of dangerous organic solvent fumes, such as formaldehyde and xylene, and restore clean air

Workstations are constructed of glacier white and gray, dry powder, epoxy-coated aluminum and steel. The sides and front sash are made of fire-, scratch-, and chemical-resistant 0.6cm (1/4") thick tempered safety glass. The sash is angled to provide a more comfortable operating position than a vertical sash. The 20.3cm (8") high opening pivots upward and locks at 50.8cm (20") for loading and cleaning. Containment-enhancing features include an ergonomic air foil with aerodynamic Clean-Sweep™ airflow openings, upper containment sash foil, upper dilution air supply, side-entry air foils, and patented zone-perforated rear baffle. Other standard features include fluorescent lighting, utility ports with plugs for passing tubes and electrical cords to the outside, light and blower switches, and a rear-mounted electrical receptacle.

Models 89000-166 and 89000-114 are designed for connection to a remote blower or house exhaust system and offer protection from a broad range of chemicals. These models may be connected to a FilterMate™ portable exhauster (see 82010-632 series) to return filtered air to the laboratory. Workstations with a built-in blower accommodate two large carbon filters for organic vapor, formaldehyde, and ammonia that can be used in any configuration. Carbon filters 89000-124, -126, and -128 are sold separately and keep concentrations of these chemicals below OSHA-recommended, time-weighted average levels.

Charcoal gray work surfaces are fabricated from durable epoxy resins and are dished to contain spills. Corrosion- and stain-resistant surfaces are easy to clean and are available with a 25.4Lx35.6Wx15.2Dcm (10x14x6") molded epoxy sink (89000-170) with faucet and spray nozzle. The sink is preplumbed and ready to install. Base stands are constructed of durable 4.4cm (13/4") tubular, glacier white epoxy-coated steel and support loads up to 453.6kg (1000lbs.). ADA-compliant. Telescoping base stands have legs that are adjustable from 69.9–85.1cm (271/2–331/2") high and are available with fixed leveling feet or 12.7cm (5") diameter toe-locking casters. Hydraulic lift base stands adjust from 64.8–85.1cm (251/2–331/2") high and include four powder-coated, die-cast feet with levelers. Feet can be replaced with casters for mobility. Manual hydraulic lift models include a front-accessible hand crank. Electric hydraulic lift models include a front-accessible up/down switch. Optional utility shelf kit has three epoxy-coated steel shelves.

They meet the OSHA regulation on exposure to formaldehyde.

Certifications: The 115V models are ETL and ETL-C listed. The 230V models are CE marked. Electrical components of electric hydraulic stands are UL listed.

Ordering information: All models require a work surface and supporting base, which are sold separately. Fixtures for the work surface include a chrome-plated gooseneck faucet with vacuum breaker, two chrome-plated faucet controls, and a spray nozzle with hose and vacuum breaker. The sink requires a 3.8cm (11/2") drain connection. Only 115V models include a plug. For optional Guardian airflow monitors, see 82007-280 series.
