RapidVap® N₂ Evaporation System, Labconco®
Evaporators Centrifugal Evaporators
Perfect for fast, unattended concentration of environmental samples

System signals completion of a run in two ways. In one, a timer pauses the system and alerts user when the predetermined end point is achieved. In the second method, the system monitors the temperature differential between the block and heater. When these are nearly equal, meaning end point is near, the alarm sounds and light flashes. The unique Cool Zone™ block and tube design reduces the evaporation rate after end point is achieved.

The Cool Zone™ insulates the samples and allows the researcher adequate time to remove the samples before they reach dryness. System consists of a glacier white and charcoal epoxy-coated aluminum base with thermoplastic upper housing, a fluoropolymer resin-coated aluminum chamber, a nitrogen port, rear 5.1cm (2") diameter exhaust port, and a 1.3cm (1/2") thick glass lid with safety switch.

Microprocessor-controlled programming for vortex speed from 0 to 100%; heat from OFF to 100°C; time from 1 to 999 minutes; and number of active nitrogen positions, 2, 4, 6, or 8. Memory stores 1 to 9 programs. LCD screen displays program number, actual and set point vortex speed, actual and set point temperature, time remaining, and number of active nitrogen positions. Control panel has run/stop button, preheat/end alarm button and indicator light, set point selection buttons, and increase/decrease programming buttons.

Fluoropolymer resin-coated aluminum blocks are available for both 170 and 600mL sizes. Each graduated 600mL tube has a sample capacity of up to 450mL when vortexing. Each graduated 170mL tube has a sample capacity of up to 125mL when vortexing. Glassware caps help prevent cross contamination and moisture from condensing when using low boiling point solvents.

System combines mechanical vortex action up to 500rpm, heat, and nitrogen blow down technologies. Process eight samples up to 450mL in size at once. The microprocessor-controlled nitrogen blow down manifold directs nitrogen flow into the selected sample tubes.

Certifications: The 230V units are CE marked.

Ordering information: System includes 1 eight-place fluoropolymer resin-coated aluminum block for 600mL tubes, 8 polyethylene caps for 600mL tubes, and 1.8m (6') of 5.1cm (2") diameter exhaust ducting. The 115V models include a 2m (6'6") three-wire cord with 20A plug.
