For fast gel runs with flat, even banding
Self-contained design and clamping system simplify setup. Full-length, spring-loaded side clamps slide easily over the gel plate assembly, centering it on the upper buffer chamber. Molded gasket provides a leak-resistant seal. The 6.4mm (1/4") acrylic safety lid features an interlocking design to eliminate the risk of electrical shock while providing extra protection from low-level radioactive samples. Lid closes in one orientation only, ensuring that the (+) and (–) electrodes are not reversed. Three-electrode configuration improves field uniformity to improve resolution across the entire gel. Corrosion-resistant platinum electrodes and gold-plated banana plugs extend electrode life.
Optional multiple gradient casters found with Owl Series Single-Sided Vertical Minigel System accessories and Owl Series Vertical Electrophoresis Systems accessories, for casting gradient or single percentage gels, are sold separately. Units allow the pumping of acrylamide through a port on the base of the caster. Port can be closed to pour gels from the top.
Package sets include upper buffer chamber with internal cooling core, a lower buffer chamber, SuperSafe™ lid with attached power cords, one Gel Casting System, and one blocking plate for single gel operation. The gel casting unit encases the gel sandwich and acrylamide in a research-quality plastic pouch to eliminate the need for bottom spacers, tape, grease, or agarose seals. Built-in, three-point bubble leveling system ensures uniform gel fronts.
Complete systems include all of the above except the gel casting system. P8DS systems also include four blank glass plates; two notched glass plates; two notched alumina plates; four side spacers, 0.8mm thick; two 10-well combs, 0.8mm thick; and a 250mL buffer capacity. P9DS systems also include four blank glass plates; four notched glass plates; eight side spacers, 1.5mm thick; two each 10-well and 15-well combs, 1.5mm thick; and a 650mL buffer capacity. P10DS systems include four blank glass plates; four notched glass plates; eight side spacers, 1.5mm thick; two each 15-well and 20-well combs, 1.5mm thick; and a 1250mL buffer capacity.
Alumina ceramic central cooling chamber transfers heat up to 40 times more efficiently than glass or plastic. Water circulation system enables high-resolution results.
