Mayo Dissecting Scissors, 14 cm

Scissors

Mayo scissors, also called mayo dissecting scissors, are surgical scissors made popular by the mayo clinic. They have ring handles and long, straight, thick blades with semi-blunt tips that are straight or curved.

The length of the blade determines the reach of the scissors when you are dissecting. The blades are sturdy for heavy duty work like cutting connective tissues, fascia, and sutures.

Mayo scissors are often used for dissection, where the blunt tips prevent accidental damage to surrounding tissue and may be used to delicately probe. They may also be used for dressing and bandage removal.

These surgical scissors are available in surgical grade stainless steel or premium German steel. Both metals are suitable for sterilization by autoclaving or chemically. Always clean your surgical instruments promptly after use. Cleaning helps to minimize staining and preserve the life of your fine surgical instruments.
