Weigh box features inlet and outlet HEPA filters that help provide a leak-tight physical barrier to protect the operator from hazardous airborne particulates and powders (99.99% efficiency on 0.3µm particulates)
Unit is constructed with a one-piece molded, medium-density polyethylene shell with a dry powder epoxy-coated steel superstructure. Viewing window consists of 6.4mm (1/4") thick laminated safety glass with powder-coated steel frame and neoprene gasket. Window is removable for loading equipment. Space-saving inner and outer transfer chamber doors pivot upward and are counterbalanced and equipped with quick latches. The transfer chamber interior has an interlocking shelf made of dry powder epoxy-coated steel. The black, chemical-resistant phenolic core work surface is sealed to the glove box floor.
Unit is also equipped with a pair of 76.2 cm (30") long, 3.8mm (5/32") thick neoprene gloves, an interior ceiling-mounted duplex electrical receptacle, a built-in blower with speed control for airflow from 13–100cfm, a fluorescent lamp, and main chamber static pressure gauge for monitoring HEPA filter loading.
Airborne particulate cleanliness exceeds ISO Class 5 (FED-STD-209E Class 100/M3.5) and achieved ISO Class 3 (FED-STD-209E Class 1/M1.5) conditions at both minimum and maximum operational airflow volumes. Weigh box is factory leak tested with a mass spectrometer while pressurized with helium at 2.5cm (1") of water gauge. No leaks greater than 1x10-3mL/sec were detected (0.05ppm average tracer gas levels or less detected during perimeter scan testing).
115V model is ETL listed with UL 3101-1/61010-1 and CAN/CSA C22.2 No. 1010.1 conformity. The 230V model is CE marked.
An antistatic ionizer fan circulates ionized air inside the box to reduce static charge and a balance vibration isolator, consisting of a marble slab with isolator pads and a Type 304 stainless steel cover, dampens vibrations during weighing operations. Vibration displacement is <1.5x10-5in., measured at both minimum and maximum airflow volumes.
