Kits provide high-throughput purification of total DNA (including genomic, mitochondrial, and viral DNA) from whole blood and a variety of animal tissues or cells
- For whole blood, serum, plasma, cultured cells & lymphocytes
- 96-well binding plate and deep well collection plate included
- 45 minute run time.
The IBI 96-well Blood Genomic DNA kit was designed for high-throughput purification of genomic, mitochondrial, and virus DNA from whole blood (fresh and frozen blood) plasma, serum, body fluids, lymphocytes and cultured cells. This DNA extraction kit uses protease and chaotropic salt to lyse cells and degrade protein, allowing DNA to bind to the glass fiber matrix of the 96-well gDNA binding plate. Contaminants are removed using a wash buffer and the purified genomic DNA is eluted using a low salt elution buffer, TE or purified water.
This method uses Proteinase K and a chaotropic salt to lyse cells and degrade proteins. DNA in the chaotropic salt is bound by the glass fiber matrix of each well. Once any contaminants have been removed, the purified DNA is eluted by a low salt elution buffer or water. The entire procedure can be completed in one hour without phenol extraction or alcohol precipitation. Kits can be used for manual filtration or with robotic handling systems, and purified DNA with approximately 20–30kb is suitable for PCR or other enzymatic reactions. Applications include PCR, AFLP, RFLP, southern blotting, and real-time PCR.
