Convenient, ready-to-use liquid calf thymus DNA solution is designed for use in the preparation of pre-hybridization and hybridization solutions, and as a DNA carrier in yeast transformation protocols and other related methods

Buffer composition: 10 mM Tris Chloride, 1 mM EDTA, ph 7.6
Hyperchromocity: 31.4%
Nitrogen: 14.2%
Phosphorus: 7.7%
UV Absorbance: 1.9 at wavelength 260–280 nm

It is also an excellent substrate for deoxyribonuclease or DNA polymerase. The solution contains sheared, single-stranded DNA molecules used to block the non-specific attachment of probe DNA to the surface of a membrane (Southern) or to increase yeast transformation efficiency. Solution vial should be stored at –20°C (–4°F). Expiration date is 6 months from the date of opening.
