Dosing
The ideal dosage depends on the hardness of the water and the level of contamination of the items to be cleaned.
Under normal conditions, the concentration for application is 0.2–0.4%, i.e. 20–40 g of Extran® AP 11 are used for around 10 L of water
The pH value of a 0.3% solution when ready for use is pH = 11.3
pH value (1%; water) ≥ 11.5–12.5""
Extran® AP 13 is an intensive cleaning agent for main wash cycle, which is particularly effective against grease and oil deposits. It also removes other organic and inorganic residues.
Extran® AP 15 Liquid Concentrate is for use in automatic washers equipped with liquid dosing systems. Designed to remove all types of contamination from laboratory glassware and apparatus. Especially effective at removing starch and protein residues. Phosphate-free. Dose: 3–5mL per liter. pH of 0.5% solution: 12.2.
Extran® AP 21 Acid Rinse with Phosphoric Acid can be used as a pre-wash for removal of carbonate, hydroxide, protein, and amine residues. Also effective as a gentle cleaner for the main wash cycle of automatic washers, or as a final rinse to provide a neutralizing effect when used in conjunction with one of more of the more powerful alkaline extran detergents. Also helps prevent buildup of calcium and carbonate deposits in the dishwasher. Dose: 1–3mL per liter. pH of 0.3% solution: 2.0.
Extran® AP 22 works as a pre-wash agent to primarily dissolve hydroxides from residues, and it often removes protein substances and organic bases (e.g. amines) better than an alkaline main wash cycle. As a rinsing agent used after alkaline main wash cycle, Extran® AP 22 is suitable for removing remaining traces of alkali. It is also well suited for removal of calcareous deposits in washing machines. It is recommended for cases in which gentle conditions must be maintained, and it is particularly suitable for gentle removal of deposits that accumulate on taps, sensitive metals, and glass surfaces.
Extran® AP 41 Powdered Enzymatic Cleaner is designed to remove mucus, saliva, blood, and protein residues. It is recommended for use on glass, stainless steel, porcelain, plastic, rubber, and fiberglass. Dose: 3g per liter. pH of 0.3% solution: 11.4. Recommended temperature range: 60±5°C.
