Cells
Cystic fibrosis is a disease that causes thick, sticky mucus to build up in the lungs, digestive tract, and other areas of the body. It is one of the most common chronic lung diseases in children and young adults.

The disease is the most common, deadly, inherited disorder affecting Caucasians in the United States. The disease eventually worsens to the point where the person is disabled. Today, the average life span for people with CF who live to adulthood is approximately 37 years, a dramatic increase over the last three decades.

Human Small Airway Epithelial Cells (SAEC) are isolated from cystic fibrosis human lung tissue. Cryopreserved Clonetics® SAECs are guaranteed through 15 population doublings and stain positive for cytokeratin 19. All cells test negative for mycoplasma, bacteria, yeast, and fungi. HIV-1, hepatitis B andhepatitis C are not detected for all donors and/or cell lots.

Delivery information: Content: 1×cryopreserved ampule with ≥500000 cells/vial and Certificate of Analysis is provided for each cell lot purchased.
