Bone marrow mononuclear cells (common abbreviations: BMNC, BM MNC, and BM-MNC) are a mixed population of single nucleus cells including monocytes, lymphocytes, and hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells.
- Test negative for mycoplasma, bacteria, yeast, and fungi
- HIV-1, Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C are not detected for all donors and/or cell lots
Cryopreserved Lonza Bone Marrow Mononuclear Cells are isolated from whole bone marrow via density gradient separation. Isolating mononuclear cells eliminates erythrocytes and granulocytes, producing a more stable cell product. Lonza BMNCs are available fresh or frozen from a large and varied donor pool. They are guaranteed to contain either ≥5, 25, 100, 200 and 300 million viable cells per ampoule, depending upon product purchased. Fresh cells are suspended in HBSS with 5 mM EDTA and 0.5% BSA and are available in a variety of cells per vial packaging sizes. Fresh BMNC orders require a minimum order quantity of two vials per donor.
Lonza offers choices in cell type and tissue source so you can choose the right product for your research and budget needs. Depending upon your ultimate cell of choice, you can choose from unprocessed bone marrow, bone marrow MNCs, bone marrow CD34+ cells, bone marrow stromal cells (for use as feeder cells), or bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells. In addition, if bone marrow is not your preferred tissue source, we also offer cord blood derived cells.
HPGM® Hematopoietic Growth Medium is recommended for optimal performance in serum-free culturing (additional cytokines may be necessary depending on application). Alternative media containing serum may also be acceptable.
Lonza guarantees the performance of Clonetics®/Poietics® cells only if appropriate Clonetics®/Poietics® media and reagents are used exclusively and the recommended storage and use protocols are followed.
