The 8500 automated purge and trap concentrator offers a fast moving, 110-position autosampler with high flexibility to support easy sample selectivity. Water and soil samples are accommodated through separate sampling stations and sampling needles to prevent cross-contamination.

Internal standard is added through the use of a precision electronic control device capable of adding the standard in fixed increments between 1 and 25 µl. Water sample delivery to the concentrator is supported by a 25 ml syringe capable of performing automated sample dilution. The autosampler meets the requirements of USEPA regulatory drinking and wastewater testing methods.

The purge and trap concentrator comes equipped with a dual-channel mass flow controller to support both N2 and He purge gases. Additionally, the 8500C supports an 8-port high temperature valve permitting online moisture removal. A linear, Type-K focusing trap is installed as the default trap. The high performance of the 8500C is able to meet and exceed the requirements set by the USEPA for drinking water and wastewater standards.
