Designed specifically for use in extremely harsh climate conditions.
- Metal-Cap broom with Chisel-End
- Poly-fibers withstand temperature down to –70 °F
- Clinched galvanized wire bands provide stiff-sweep action
- Baked finish prevents rust
The Track and Switch Broom with Chisel-End is manufactured with a machine pressed metal cap to handle excessive use. The baked finish inside and out prevents rust. Steel-sleeve, poly-fiber, and cap are riveted into one rugged unit, extending service life and reducing railroad maintenance costs.
Polypropylene fiber is heat-fused and locked in place by steel, zinc-plated rivets. Will not rot or become brittle in temperatures down to –70 °F or temperatures up to 225 °F. Galvanized wire bands clinched securely in place with 'C' hooks produce stiff sweeping. Steel-sleeve protects straight-grained hardwood handle against abrasion and wear.
Drop-forged and hardened steel chisel with sharp ground edge. Tang rounded to prevent splitting and spread shock. Flashing on tang prevents rotation, sets chisel firmly in handle. Tapered steel ferrule eliminates protrusion that may damage track equipment.
