miVac Centrifugal Evaporators provide a compact, high performing and flexible solution for removing water and organic solvents from a variety of sample formats including tubes, micro tubes, microplates and vials
Ideal for life science laboratories, these centrifugal concentrators rely on the vacuum in the system to cause liquids to boil at a lower than normal temperature enabling concentrating or removal of solvents at very low temperatures. To prevent evaporating samples from boiling over (bumping) in an uncontrolled manner, simultaneous to the drying process, samples are spun in a centrifuge creating sufficient g-force to keep each sample in its own tube. Preconfigured systems can be connected out of the box for maximum convenience or see separate component offering to build your own modular set-up. Easily interchangeable rotors hold glass tubes and vials, plastic tubes, or microplates and can be purchased separately to suit many different tasks and applications.
Concentrators feature an electro-magnetic drive for maintenance free operation, and are extremely quiet when in use. A range of disc rotors for tubes and vials, and swing rotors for deep-well and shallow-well microplates allow easy processing of samples in most common formats. Simple user interface and controls enable first-time users to easily set parameters using the set and select dial or preprogrammed settings while more advanced users can customize their settings. Concentrators also feature a large digital display to easily monitor time and temperature. High displacement vacuum pumps, the SpeedTrap refrigerated condenser and solid aluminum JetRotors make concentration with miVac components faster than comparable systems.
The DNA Integrated System is specifically designed for working with nucleic acids – RNA and DNA, and is capable of removing water and simple organic solvents, up to 100⁰C from small amounts of samples in a variety of formats. Supplied complete with a built-in high performance pump, concentration chamber and fixed angle aluminum rotor to hold 48 - 1.5/2.0 microcentrifuge tubes. A wide range of interchangeable optional rotors are also available. For a wider range of solvents and/or larger numbers and volume of samples select miVac Duo or Quattro concentrator with miVac SpeedTrap and pump.
The Duo Concentrator Plus Package includes all the components in the Standard Duo system package (Duo Concentrator, Duo Pump, Connection Kit) as well as the miVac SpeedTrap cold trap. Ideal when working with 75ml or greater sample volumes or maximizing concentration speed is desired. The miVac SpeedTrap chills to -50⁰C collecting solvents as a liquid in an easy to empty jar. Its unique design and built-in compressor enable a small footprint while delivering big results. Rotors and sample holders are sold separately.
The Quattro Concentrator Higher Vacuum Package includes all the components of the Quattro Lower Vacuum package (Quattro Concentrator, System Connection Kit, SpeedTrap and Pump) but exchanges the Duo pump for the higher vacuum, four-headed diaphragm Quattro pump which can reach 2mbar or below. Required for successful drying of medium boiling point solvents. Rotors and sample holders are sold separately.
