Biotium offers a number of popular substrates for alkaline phosphatase, beta-galactosidase, and horseradish peroxidase which are widely used for chromogenic or fluorogenic ELISA, immunohistochemistry, or blotting applications.

Beta-glucuronidase substrates are widely used to detect E. coli bacterial contamination in food and water, and also in reporter gene assays in plants.

X-beta-D-cellobioside is a substrate for beta-cellobiosidase.
