TC Halsey Needle Holders are available with smooth or delicately serrated jaws. Smooth jaws will cause the least damage to the needle, however serrated jaws hold the needle more tightly. Physician preference typically determines the type of working surface utilized. Sklar® permanently bonds tungsten carbide inserts to the instrument, which maximizes control and precision.
