Human Tracheal Smooth Muscle Cells (HTSMC), PromoCell
Supplier: Promocell
Primary Human Tracheal Smooth Muscle Cells (HTSMC) are isolated from the trachea from single donors and stain positive for smooth muscle α-actin
- Smooth muscle alpha-actin positive
- CD90 negative
- Routinely morphology tested
- Cryopreserved at second passage
This product can be used in the following applications. Organ specific drug testing, Cell-extracellular matrix interaction studies, Physiological and biochemical studies, Oncology, Pathological studies (e.g. hypertension).
They connect the endings of the tracheal cartilage by a contractile bridge called the paries membranaceus and consequently regulate the airway lumen. Under pathological conditions like asthma, the amount of smooth muscle cells in the trachea walls is increased leading to smooth muscle hypertrophy or hyperplasia. Hence, HTSMC are suitable for in vitro studies of asthma and other pulmonary diseases.
Ordering information: Human Tracheal Smooth Muscle Cells can be ordered as cryopreserved or proliferating cells. Additional cell pellets stored in RNAlater® are available.
